My experience with La Brioche, a New England Culinary Institute bakery and cafe, is having lunch there over the course of many years. My wife and I have never been disappointed. Typically, there are 3 sandwich selections, usually including one vegetarian, posted on a chalk board. There are also salad and soup selections. Of course, then you can select desert... More

This is by far one of the best places to get a danish or croissant or whatever on the way to breakfast of whatever.

Admittedly this review is based on only one product as that is all I had there, but this bakery was average. I tried the chocolate croissant and found it denser and the texture tougher than I expected especially considering this is a bakery for the culinary school.

I have been a customer at La Brioche for 15 years, mainly for their excellent, student made, breads. My son, who lives in Manhattan, said to me yesterday, 'Dad, when I come home with a freshly made organic Ciabatta, I could eat the whole thing !!'. He used to work at La Brioche. My favorites are the WHOLE GRAIN, OLIVE BREAD... More

If you want to find interesting and unique baked goods with an international flair, visit La Brioche. The breads are outstanding and the pastries, delicious. The Chocolate Mousse cakes are to die for! For a quick bite to eat while in Montpelier, stop by La Brioche and enjoy a tea or coffee with a pastry or sandwich in a cafe... More

From what I understand this bakery is staffed by students at the local culinary school...we just grabbed a monkey bread and coffee to go...the monkey bread was so good! Everything looked fantastic and it was hard to decide which treat to have...

My girlfriend and I were on a road trip back to Canada and we made a little pit stop in Montpelier. We stopped in to get a treat at La Brioche. Everyone there was super friendly and the treats were delicious. We had a jalapeño cheese croissant and a raspberry chocolate tart. They were both very good and satisfied out... More

We shared a chocolate cupcake, an almond croissant, and some whipped cream concoction, and it was pastry heaven, albeit the cupcake was a bit too sweet. They also have good coffee. The lunch menu looked good, but we only had pastry.

Affordable, quiet atmosphere, family friendly, best for meeting a friend for coffee and a pastry. The NECI students make all the treats in a back room that you can view through a window. Very entertaining!

I saw the store on the corner and across from the New England Culinary School and Yah! Let pack some sweet in my body! I ordered a Croissant, fruits danish and cinnamon bun , i dont like it ,too dense if compare the pastry at King Arthur Flour are better. Sorry, may be is not for me.
