A wonderful spot for both vegetarians and others looking for great dining. Superb menu and good bar in a pleasant atmosphere. You will not be disappointed.

I love Farm to Table restaurants. At Kismet though, I found their offerings uneven. A halibut ceviche appetizer was exceptional, but the roast pork entree was not only far too fatty but undercooked. The seared squid appetizer was flavorful but too chewy. And the vegetable platter entree was a mix of some deliciously prepared vegetables and some that were for... More

We had the best meal of our trip here. The atmosphere is charming and quaint. The service is exceptional and the food is dynamite. Don't miss the polenta fries as an app. I had the steak, and it was so tender I could cut it with my fork. Great meal!

We were a bit early and the bartender was so charming and made us feel right at home. She told us about the oyster special--$1 per oyster between 5 & 6. As soon as we were seated, menus appeared and we quickly decided on a wine, oysters, and halibut. They were changing the Sauvignon to a Voigner, they nicely offered... More

Stopped at Kismet for dinner this past weekend while on the way to Montreal. We used to drive to Burlington for dinner, but after discovering this excellent farm to table spot, we leave a little extra time for a longer meal so that we can stop. It's amazing! The level of complexity in the flavors from smoked lentils on the... More

Don't get to pass through here much for dinner. Had the pleasure with friends this evening. From the beef carpaccio to the bone broth bread pudding to the pork with strawberries, it is worth the time because it is a special pleasure. Vermont is full of the trendy but sometimes harder to find the soulfully delicious.

Had a great Sunday brunch here on the July 4th weekend. The service was exceptionally good - very attentive and explanatory when required. The portions were large, and the quality of the food was second to none. Coffees were also very good. Though the restaurant is not large, we got a seat easily enough, perhaps due to the large number... More

Very friendly and attentive service. A bit noisy due to the size, but easily overlooked due to the food. The cocktail menu made me wish I had a few more days in Montpelier. I had a vegetarian meal with some of the best tempeh I've had. There was a variety of vegetables, each prepared differently, so I got to explore... More

Our family of four dined here recently. We had one Vegan diner and another family member who is gluten free. Makes sense to opt for the prix fix menu for two of us. We added a side and starter to share. The table shared the beet salad and bread pudding. The bread pudding won, hands down, as the most savory... More

If you don't live in Montpelier, Kismet is reason enough to plan a road trip! The chic, farm-to-table, community-oriented restaurant is Montpelier's first organic restaurant and offers up an inspired menu featuring fresh, local ingredients and meals crafted with love. Chef/owner Crystal Maderia creates seasonal craft cocktail and dinner menus that are sophisticated, creative, and complimented by her natural wine and artisan beer lists. All dishes are made naturally with local meats, organic produce, and sustainably harvested regional fish and seasonings from the restaurant's very own garden. It doesn't get any fresher than this! A great atmosphere, an inspired and nourishing menu, and a friendly staff make Kismet a local favorite.
