We had a great time at this restaurant ! Loved the atmosphere. Does look like a search for objects book but is so fun to look at. We were seated by ourselves in what looked like a train car.The waiter was great. Drinks were strong....I had the wild cherry mule. Food was delicious. We walked from the Middlebury Inn which is fantastic. We loved it! Do both in Middlebury !!More

We’ve had our share of supper club visits, and when this was recommended to us by a local we had high hopes. All three of us had either prime rib or steak with mashed potatoes. Nothing special and under seasoned prime rib. Prices didn’t match...the quality.More

It was our first time here. The interior decor was interesting. There's a lot to look at and it adds to a fun atmosphere. Jenn S. was our excellent server. She was very friendly and efficient. She told us about the milk bar and the...chocolate milk was outstanding! Food wise - we had the Big Moose Burger, Bartender Burger and I had the Caprese Panini. The food was good. I should have made a different choice. As a vegetarian I had a decent amount of options. The manager came around to see how everything was so that was nice.More

We used to love the amazing salad bar that was included with the meal. That went away during covid and has not returned. I had expected dinner to include a salad, but was disappointed that the meals, which are priced the same or even higher,...include only a potato. No vegetables. No salad. We had the prime rib, which was good, but disappointed that it didn't even include the seasonal vegetables or a salad. The decor is interesting, as always, and the service was good. Please throw in a dinner salad!More

Our waitress could not have been better! The food was good, I was hoping for more options but with additions suggested by our server, my risotto was very good. Husbands prime rib was a bit too fatty. We sat in the pub at the only...high top (at or request) next time I would sit in the main area. Felt a bit cut off but totally on us because we requested that specific table. The memorabilia and historical items on display were so interesting! Could’ve done a tour!More

I saw fire and ice and immediately thought of the improvisational grill in Boston, Cambridge, Providence and elsewhere. Quickly realized the difference. Very eclectic room. Fabulous food, great service, reasonable price.

Friendly staff at this family-owned restaurant. The interior is FULL of interesting memorabilia and artifacts including a restored boat, carousel top (above the bar), and thousands of photos. We ate on the back deck because the weather was so lovely. Champlain Cidery’s Mac & Maple...cider was yummy! I had a cáptese sandwich & my friend had a salad with apples & blue cheese. We both enjoyed our meals. The chocolate milk was a delicious surprise.More

We went for Father's Day and I had the champagne chicken served with rice for $22.95, i will say it was delicious. It is literally the cheapest meal on their menu. If you want a small salad it's $6.95 extra and is nothing special. Large...salad will run you $8.95 or a bowl of soup du jour $6.95, a cup $4.95. Bread bucket extra $2.95 I can remember the days when soup or salad was included in the cost of your meal and free bread at each table, but I guess it hasn't been included in a long long time. There's really no reason it's not included except to gain a greater profit. The service was good, I just felt our waitress was fake friendly and it was a little nauseating for my taste.More

This is the first time I visited this restaurant in Middlebury Vermont. It was an all around treat. The server Tarpon was excellent. The prime rib and scallop dish were both very good and the place warm and scenic.

Ordered the Berber Halibut. As a matter of fact it was well cooked and tasty, even though without seasoning. But the jasmine rise had no flavor and the pineapple salsa and cilantro lime aioli arrived when the halibut was almost finished. Last but not least...the bill arrived without asking. The hidden message: can you leave the table as soon as possible? And the restauran was rather empty.More

We had takeout from Fire and Ice..prime rib, French onion soup. My first surprise was that all of the menu was available for takeout…prime rib was great..we chose Dale’s way…order ready in expected time frame…beef was juicy, tender and flavorful. I was skeptical that “to-go”...French onion soup could measure up to eat-in but I was not disappointed…rich broth with lots of onions complete with crostini and plenty of melted Gruyère. While we did not eat in, staff we chatted with was polite, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. Included in our to-go bag was instructions as to how best to reheat. We did not need these suggestions as our dinner was kitchen hot. We’re ready to return!More

The food was extremely slow coming out and the quality was not great. Caesar salad was ok but the pasta dish we ordered was honestly terrible. I couldn’t eat it. My husband’s burger was ok. Definitely not worth the over $200 bill for 7 people.
