Favorite place for anniversary dinner. The atmosphere is worth the 39 min drive. Lemon Lori cake and salad bar are favorites. Love the we can usually get a nice cozy private romantic table for two.

Fire and Ice is a nicer, more or less upscale restaurant with the best salad bar I've every seen (huge, very well stocked and very fresh). This place feels like eating in someone's home in many ways. It has a few different rooms, each with its own feel. The service is great, cocktails are expertly made and a wide variety... More

There are a lot of small room which makes it nice for large parties, and also cuts down on the noise. For decor, they have original paintings, antique wooden skis, snow shoes, tennis rackets, ship models, antiques, books and art work on the walls, and generally these are things that belonged to the family. When we were sitting in the... More

Was in Vermont watching our daughter Play Basketball at the local college and ended up having dinner at the Pub located behind Fire and Ice. Great find enjoyed the bartender, the atmosphere and the Owner. Had the best Burger of all time. Will definitely go back if in the area again. Highly recommend it. Thanks,

Atmosphere very nice and fascinating to look at. However, the food was very expensive and not worth the price. A marbled steak that was mostly fat and that costs $27 with just dry mashed potatoes on the side is just not worth it. Waitress did not try to remedy an allergy situation; she just took away the gravy with no... More

The first thing one notices about Fire and Ice is the decor. The walls are covered with pictures and paraphernalia related to fishing. I think every restaurant should have a small boat next to the salad bar! The restaurant seems large but it is divided into many nooks and crannies so the tables have a surprisingly private feeling and are... More

For the second year my mother took my Brother and I out for our birthdays here (joint dinner since our birthdays are 10 days apart) - along with my wife - and the food was outstanding. It's on the pricey side (hence the joint celebration) once you have a mean and add the "salad bar" (aka - world). To start... More

Fire & Ice is my favorite Middlebury restaurant. The food and drinks are good, but I really love the decorations, they are really unique and make for great conversation starters (especially looking at some of the books in the library)!

We had just visited the Lincoln Peak Vineyard and wanted food but didn't want to wait until we got back to Burlington. Having heard good things about Fire & Ice, we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is easy to find and, since it was fairly early on a Sunday evening, parking was not a challenge. We were... More

This is the place to go when in Middlebury. The food was amazing, the salad bar has something for everyone and the interior décor is amazing. They have the best drinks and fabulous staff. The toilets were very clean and really cool.
