Nice lively place, locals prefer. The place was too strongly lit to call it intimate. Nice salad bar, food was well prepared, but not gourmet. Service very pleasant.

What an interesting restaurant! You could spend a lot of time just looking at all the pictures and other decor. The four of us all had excellent meals with plenty of food that did not require a trip to the extensive and expensive salad bar. Our waitress was excellent with a good sense of humor. We will definitely eat here... More

I wish I had pictures of the interior, it is truly amazing. Without eating, you could easily spend an hour taking in the memorabilia in Fire & Ice. The main dining hall is a huge salad bar with an old, classic speed boat in the center. Each of the dining areas is so uniquely designed and decorated. The bar is... More

We had a little time before the wedding so we went for the salad and delicious wings. The service was fast and the staff very attentiive. The salad had alot to choose from hot and cold.

For starters, the decor is incredible; it's like going back in time. We were seated in the library. My mom and I tried the surf and turf and the fettucini alfredo. Both were very large portions and very tasty. The free local cheese, bread, and chocolate milk was a nice touch. I'd definitely stop by if I were in Middlebury... More

Fun atmosphere, memorabilia, lots of things to look at, friendly hostess and server. We ordered the salad bar on a Sunday afternoon, lots of local produce, and the hot items were quite delicious, they rotate, but we got the teriyaki salmon, mac and cheese, veggie soup that was incredible, they had cold shrimp, other types of salads, a pickle bar,... This place has excellent decor/environment but food is average. Service we thought was excellent but food was overcooked and overpriced. We had the prime rib (very fatty) and surf & turf (meat overcooked and lobster chewy). There aren't many places to choose from in Middlebury, VT so we gave it a try during our ride through heading south on Route... More

We only visit Fire & Ice once a year to celebrate our anniversary. Staff, food, and atmosphere is always exceptionally inviting. Great selection on salad bar, including shrimp, fresh breads and local cheeses, compliment the main courses beautifully without breaking the budget.

The salad bar is the best and biggest I have been to. The chocolate milk ( from a local dairy) is the best. This restaurant has reserved parking places ( across from the handicapped parking ) for any veteran, which I think is great. The waitresses are very helpful. Also the food selection is great.
