This place was recommended by our B&B innkeeper, so we gave it a try after looking at the menu online. Everything sounded wonderful. Interesting cranberry fritters with maple butter served before anything else. They were pretty dry, but the maple butter was awesome. My husband ordered the lobster bisque and scrod, both of which were excellent. I ordered the appetizer... More

Thank you for your visit and letting us know about your dining experience. I'm disappointed we couldn't leave a better first impression on you. I have already discussed your comments regarding the Salmon and Mashed Potatoes with our Chef and I can assure you this will never happen again. I hope you'll come back and visit again soon. Cheers! My wife and I had eaten here because of the rave reviews she got from a co-worker. As soon as we walked in we fell in love with the antiquity of the place. I started with the lobster bisque, which was quite good. A nice amount of lobster pieces and great nuances of sherry. My wife had the crab stuffed... More

Thank you for joining us for dinner. We have been serving truly excellent food for quite a long time now, so it is upsetting to hear that you felt your dishes were not prepared to perfection. As you have read in previous review, we are absolutely committed to satisfying all of our guests. We wish that you had alerted either... More

Had such a blast! Food was amazing! Took on the swordfish with a side of rice and some green veggies. Loved every minute. Drinks weren't too shabby either

Snow hit Manchester hard and we didn't feel like driving far from our motel. Saw this place, turned in and found a crowded parking lot with lots of local license plates. Usually a good sign. We were NOT disappointed. Food was terrific, good wine list. Nice ambiance with small rooms, each with a fireplace. This is another "let's go again"... More

Highly rated on TripAdvisor and went on a snowy day. Fireplaces in dining rooms very inviting. Drinks were good. But very disappointed about 2 things. First, there was an unexplained "attitude" by staff, both server and the hostess, which was really uncalled for as it wasn`t very crowded. This alone ruined the experience. Then the food, although hot, was pretty... More

While that is our goal and one we achieve almost every time, in your case we where not able to and for which I apologize. If you could contact me and give me more details regarding... More

Stopped in for dinner during a snowstorm. Very antique place at 200 years old. Lovely. Service was very attentive and food prepared perfectly. I'll go again.

The soup was salty and fish was not tasty so much. Steamd green beens were good. Service was...OK but not good as 4stars. I will not go there again.

It is truly disheartening to read your review. I am sorry that we fell short of your expectations. We work hard, everyday, to present the best quality food with exceptional service. At The Tavern, we have a very small percentage of 'misses'. I wish that you had said something while you were dining with us. In that case, we could... More

We've dined here several times, and have never been disappointed. One of the oldest, continuously operating taverns in the country, it's true colonial dining at it's best! We like to go on their "Dine Like An Eighteenth Century Guest" night, as you dine by candle and fireside light; the second Tuesday of each month, Nov. thru March. I hesitate to... More

When the service and the kitchen are in perfect harmony, some incredible results are produced. I am happy to read that on your many visits to Ye Olde Tavern we reached our goals.
