Built in the 1700's and still in operation, visit if that interests you, but the food was merely average.

We decided to try some very traditional american comfort food. I like pot roast so thought that would be a good choice at this restaurant. I was disappointed that the gravy was so thick and gluey and the meat not fall-apart tender. The roast turkey was OK but not special. At the end of the meal, we decided it was... More

While I'm glad you appreciated our atmosphere, I'm disheartened to hear you thought our food was just okay. My entire kitchen staff put a lot of love into cooking, and want all guests to have a special and memorable dining experience. That said, if you didn't love what you ordered I wish you had brought it to our attention, so... More

Second visit to Manchester . First time to Ye Olde Tavern. If you like Old New England at it's best this place is a gem. The building interior takes you back to 1700 as soon as you walk though the front door. Decor is right out of a story book. Evening dinner very romantic with oil lamp lighting . Service... More

This is a must for anyone traveling to or through Manchester, VT. To be sure that you get a table, you should definitely call ahead --- there will be no disappointment. Great staff and outstanding menu -- not the usual entrees and the atmosphere cannot be expressed in mere words. Bottom line - you have to go here!!

A warm and historic setting for a delicious meal. Excellent service and very reasonable prices make this worth a return visit. A single travelers can enjoy a meal at the cozy bar and meet other visitors. There were many local residents dining here so that speaks to the excellent service and meal preparation

Maybe we were really hungry after hiking all day, but we devoured our entire meal here! Highly recommend reservations. The couple before us had to wait an hour for a table. The hostess brought us delicious cranberry fritters with maple butter. (These were a lot like cranberry hushpuppies). So good! Then there was herb bread. Also delicious. Salads -- one... More

Ye Olde Tavern is a delightful place to eat. The decor is set to take you back in time. The furnishings are typical for the period. The food was wonderful and the price reasonable for what you get. This is fine dining and a must if you are in the area.

Wonderfully authentic ambience, efficient and professional service, great chow. Unbeknownst to us, they have an early bird (before 6 PM) special menu @ $18. This included delicious cranberry fritters, soup or salad, entree and dessert. Amazing. Of course we jumped on it. I had pot roast and wife had chicken pot pie. Excellent. Glad we arrived earlier than planned. So,... More

Old school tavern with some modern choices. Service was very good. The meal comes with cranberry fritters, corn bread and a standard bread loaf. We started with. Venison sausage in port wine reduction which was excellent and the fritters and bread were good to sop up the sauce. The ribeye special was what one expects served with rice or the... More
