This was the best meal I’ve had in years! The ambiance is beautiful—retro 60’s vibe, the food is fantastic, and the service amazing. The rack of lamb was perfection; my husband loved his onion soup and Wiener schnitzel. I would come back 1,000 times.

This outstanding restaurant has now topped our favorites…why? We reserved 10 days in advance and were only able to secure seats at the bar but upon our arrival they remembered we had asked for a table should it become available and yes!!! Our lucky night...brought us amazing modern mid century ambiance with the best play list that made us sit and swoon sipping great wine, savouring our exceptionally prepared appetizers by Chef Marc, followed by his entrees of Wiener schnitzel and pork belly…love it when you order right! Our nearby table guests were so fun to chat with as they were making the special Vermont wedding plans for next summer! This was our perfect get away finale and we’ll be sure to recommend and return to you….WOW!More

Travelling across Vermont and stumbled on this absolute gem. Fantastic room, great ambience, incredible and original food, brilliant cocktails, plus warm friendly and knowledgeable staff. About as good a restaurant as I have ever visited. I even got an impromptu tour of the kitchen. Superb.

The restaurant offers a pleasant atmosphere and an appealing interior design with lots of art. The food is very high quality and first class in taste. The waiters are very courteous. Recommendable at any time. But please reserve in time. Especially for hotel guests of...the Kimptin Taconic a real alternative.More

A truly exceptional dining experience! The quality of food, choice, architectural setting, ambience….all truly special. The service was fantastic….kind, attentive and very knowledgeable of the wines and menu! The owner was very warm and welcoming and came to greet our table! Highly recommend the goat...cheese starter! And last but certainly not least, pre-order the bread pudding (takes 30 minutes), hands down the best I have ever had! Can’t wait to return again.More

We walked into this larger but still intimate former library to be seated and served one of the best meals of the last few decades. Joan had escargot and then an unequalled Maryland crab cake. I had the goat cheese souffle with chutney jam and...Wienerschnitzel and warm German potato salad, with a very good and reasonably priced bottle of wine, followed by a shared bread pudding. I do not like bread pudding but, as we were told, it was another masterpiece, like all which had come before. it is a three hour trip, but we will be back soon. Brian r kMore

We had the BEST dinner at The Silver Fork In Manchester! Every dish and cocktail is delicious art. The aesthetic in the former library building is both stunning and cozy at the same time. Special touches are all around. The staff is warm and welcoming...and contribute to a wonderful experience. We spent over 3 hours dining and imbibing and it was a total delight! Highly, highly recommend! And the bread pudding desert is epic!More

$27.00 for a cocktail. It's true. I was surprised as well and that's my beef with this restaurant. This restaurant's drink menu offers their version of a Vermont Manhattan made with maple liqueur. No thanks. When I asked the bartender if he could make a...classic Manhattan he asked what bourbon I'd like and showed me a menu. I normally order a rye Manhattan but no ryes were on the menu. When I asked about the Whistle Pig listed as a bourbon I was told that it was in fact rye, even though it was among the list of bourbons. So I ordered one. It was good. However, when I received my $150.00 + bill I was charged $27.0for this one drink. Nowhere, not on the menu and not from the bartender, was there any information that the price of this drink would be so excessive. When we questioned the bartender he seemed clueless and couldn't offer a reasonable explanation and there was no mention of this inflated price on their menu nor were we informed. A $27.00 Whistle Pig Manhattan is highway robbery and far out of line with pricing structure for the exact same drink - a Whistlepig Manhattan - at other fine dining restaurants in the region whose prices range from $14.00 to $18.00. This restaurant's lack of transparency is contemptible and marred an otherwise celebratory occasion.More

A wonderful find in Manchester, VT. The menu choices were varied and interesting and everything we had ordered was delicious and tasty! The Goat Cheese soufflé with Fig Chutney was just scrumptious as was the Maryland Crab Cake! And the unique bread pudding desert was...to die for. In addition, the atmosphere and decorations make for a totally pleasant experience. Excellent restaurant which needs reservations well in advance.More

I don't even know where to start - duck egg rolls, goat cheese souffle, shrimp mofongo, salmon strudel and Caribbean bread souffle. This food was so amazing, I almost burst my stomach from the amount of food I ate. And I would do it again.

We went with friends to this restaurant and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Melody and her team of Morgan, Paige and their assistant Were totally pleasant and attentive. The food was excellent. Try the duck rolls and the Wienersnitchel and there are plenty of possibilities...for vegetarians and gluten-free dishes. Our friends had the crabcakes and shrimp and raved about them. If you’re in the area this restaurant is a must!More

amazing atmosphere and service. The Wienerschnitzel was extremely good. The best though was the onion soup. It was outstanding. The Bolognese fell a little short as well as the pistachio dessert. both just didn’t hit the mark for this caliber of restaurant. The bread pudding...was out of this world.!! I could highly recommend and will definitely go back! I really like that the tables were not crammed together. Each table seemed to have an intimate setting.More

We used to love The Silver Fork when they were located down the street from their newer location at the former library. The decor and ambiance are wonderful but once again we were disappointed with the experience. As with most Manchester restaurants, they were understaffed...and this time around there were no evening specials. We honestly couldn't find an item on the main menu that appealed to us and settled for an assortment of appetizersMore
