There were eight adults in our party. (There were only 3 cars in the parking lot, so not busy.) After being seated, it took 20 minutes for someone to come back to ask what we wanted to drink and then another 15 to get drinks...and order food. After waiting an hour we got our food, which was just okay, nothing to brag about. My grilled chicken wasn't seasoned and the grilled vegetables (serving was really small and was $9.00) weren't any better. My 15 yr. old grandson got a steak and even he said we should have gone somewhere else. I do not recommend and will not return.More

I just left this place after 2 and 1/2 hours. We placed our orders and waited fully an hour and a half before we learned that they were having a problem with their computers so the kitchen sous chefs were having difficulty reading them. The...wait staff had to manually print out each order before the meal prep could begin. No explanation was given as to what the delay was until we bothered to ask the waiter. It seems like he had a lot of work writing all of these orders up. When I questioned the manager, I was told that there was no supervising chef available just the sous chefs. It seems the owner has multiple restaurants in town and can’t be bothered with this one. I have been eating at this place for over 30 years and have seen it change hands and names during that time. It has always been a wonderful experience but after tonight, I will be letting everyone I know to avoid like Covid-19. There was no courtesy given by the staff to let you know there was a problem unless you asked them. Poor customer service is something that will kill a business. So long Sam’s! P.S. I will attach a picture of the poor excuse for chicken breast which was served to one in our party.More

the food was excellent (Cesar salad with grilled chicken, NY Strip with field greens, apple pie and one of the best Old Fashioned I've had in a long time). Be aware though, Slow is the new normal, due to lack of staff. This is not...the restaurant's fault, as every facility I visited in Ludlow (and southern VT) is suffering from lack of help. So be patient with the staff that does show up to work. But do visit Sam's for a very satisfying meal.More

My husband and I have always loved Sam's and then we heard new management and a award winning chef named Andrew overseeing things we got excited to bring a few friends. Now last winter they were always short staffed but things were still at par...and food was great, now this visit service was just horrible waitress didn't seemed trained at all, we had a few questions and no supervisor or anyone to help in the building on a weekend? Service just didnt flow, servers were definitely stressed and we over heard a lot of things we shouldn't have but the servers sounded like they had legit complaints about management:(. We asked the waitress about the new chef apperently she has never seen him in the building and after eating the food its obvious there is not a highly skilled chef in the kitchen or anywhere near, the food was nothing special and it was way overpriced for what it was. Needless to say we were disappointed. My husband felt so bad for the wait staff after being a gm for years, you need to support your staff and build them up, not tear them down. Can't say will be back any time soon, hopefully management will change or learn some new skills to be able to effectively manage and run a restaurant.More

The service was very good. Asked about the $54 Wagyu beef special. The waitress said it was domestically grown beef, but also mentioned "Kobe beef" in her description. I've had Kobe beef so decided to go for broke. At the very best, I would describe...it as "chewy" - a Japanese diner would have been mortified.More

Took the family here for birthday dinners. The place was busy and service mediocre but we expected that. When our orders arrived the complaints started. The filet mignon was undercooked, the king crab legs were overcooked (dry and chewy), the chicken fettuccine was dry and...inedible (we asked for more sauce but it tasted like soap). I went to the website and wrote to the manager twice and didn't receive a response. My partner wrote and received a response (we'll get back to you), that was 2 weeks ago. As far as I am concerned it was $400 down the drain and I won't be returning.More

We came in with couple friends for dinner one night during our snowboard trip at Okemo. Decent food, friendly staffs and comfortable environment. For appetizer we had the Baked French Onion Soup Crock, Wagyu Short-rib Egg Rolls and Baked Stuffed Mushroom Caps. For entrees, I...had the delicious Baked Sea Scallops, Baked Stuffed Jumbo Shrimp was just so-so. On the meat we tried the Sam’s Cut Roast Prime Rib which was REALLY good, and the 20 days dry-aged Bone-In Ribeye was alright. Overall pretty decent foodMore

We went yo this restaurant for the first time because I wanted to experience the quality and flavor of a 28 day aged rib eye steak. While the steak was good, it was like a regular piece of steak in flavor and tenderness. It certainly...was not worth the increased cost. My friends steak was a NY Sirloin and was bigger, tastier and more tender than my expensive piece of rib eye. Service was great and the quantity sufficient. I will go back but I will not be purchasing any aged beefMore

Wonderful restaurant. Service was excellent, broad selection of choices. My wife had the dry aged filet, I had Wagyu special, and our daughter had stuffed jumbo shrimp.

After hearing how good Sam's was I decided to give it go. Not impressed. Very poor service, I had prime rib and it was average at best.. the sides where horrible. Stay away from the CALAMARI and Brussel sprouts. Lastly very pricey.

Came in and was met by a bald man who did everything he could to get the four of us seated. Food was great! I had scallops wrapped in bacon and NY sirloin. Others had prime rib! I went to the bathroom and saw this...same bald man in the bathroom picking up paper towels that others threw on the floor. I later found out the bald man was Mark and he was the owner! I could tell he cared about our experience! Thanks MarkMore

This place was good, but not great. I debated with myself if this is a 3 or 4 star place and decided to go with 4 because the meat was good. I just wish we got the meat dishes earlier when they were at a...better temperature.More

Horrible service, never even asked how meal was. Crab cakes had no crab meat at all, and amounted to a single crab cake for 15$. The 20$ burgers were over cooked and topped with a old tomato with the core still in it. Not impressed...at all.More

It might have just been our waitress but it was just ok and when the utensils were dirty and our waitress handled our glassware from the rim, we knew service was not their specialty. The expediter showed up at the table and auctioned our food...instead of knowing who ordered what. “I have the steak....?” Really, a party of 3 and you don’t have a system. Good food but not worth the price in my opinion and the service failings make not returning an easy decisionMore

I hadn’t been to Sam’s in quite some time, so I stopped in for a quick snack while I was out for a walk. I ordered the dry aged bone-in ribeye and was offered to upgrade the meal with king crab legs, but I declined....I don’t eat them underwater spiders. I’ll tell ya, that Sam sure can cook a hell of a steak. I ate the first one, then ordered two more and finished those in ten minutes flat. I ended up eating so much that I realized I wouldn’t be able to walk home, so I asked the waitress if Sam could give me a ride. He couldn’t, so I hid in the broom closet to sleep off the food intoxication and walked home the next morning.More
