We stopped in on a Sunday evening and it was pretty busy. We didn't mind waiting at the bar because they said they had two tables that were just finishing up. Well, those people lingered and it turned out to be much longer than anyone had anticipated. The hostess was very apologetic and thanked us repeatedly for our patience, which... More

We had been waiting for years to get an epic restaurant in Ludlow. Now we have it. The menu is exotic and flavorful, they have a great special wine list, and their cocktail of the day is a creation. My favorite appetizer is the stacked heirloom tomatoes with ricotta and balsamic drizzle. I recently had the soft shell crabs with... More

right in the middle of town, this gem is worth visiting. "Farm to table" for years the blackboard menu changes daily with the chefs choices of the day.

The food was to die for but just as important, the staff was outstanding resulting in a dining experience we won't soon forget. Our waitress Mel was amazing and described the food in such a loving way that we thought she was the chef. She helped us make amazing choices. We had a vegetarian in our party and they went... More

We had a very nice brunch at the Downtown Grocery this morning. We sat on the back enclosed porch - fairly empty on this rainy day. A shared sirloin carpaccio made a great starter. I moved to solid Maine Lonster Eggs Benedict, while she had the thick and meaty Carolina Catfish over Caesar with long lemon zest. Sharing is caring... More

Have been a fan of the Downtown Grocery ever since it opened a number of years ago. Outstanding gourmet food, excellent wines selection and innovative cocktails. Staff is knowledgeable about food and genuinely friendly. Locally sourced ingredients from area farms. You need to make reservations. Often sold out on weekends during the ski season ... call early. Brunch on Sunday... More

Ludlow is a cute town unfortunately the Downtown Grocery thinks it is located in Wilmette, Il or Greenwich, CT. A cute rustic place with pretty good food but expensive. Aspen in VT

This is localvore gone mad, Great food, Loved the flatbread, Drinks were great, blackened Bluefish was spectacular. Shrimp Salad terrific. The trout bone appetizer was interesting. Fantastic shallot dusted Fries. Great wine list. Very loud and I mean very. I can't imagine dining with an older person here. The server was adequate, not a lot of real warmth, it was... More

It is difficult to get a reservation in this restaurant in the winter so we waited to try it until now. It was worth the wait. While not perfect, I would give it 4-1/2 circles if the rating scale allowed. We were greeted and seated immediately. The restaurant is basically unchanged from when it was Cappuccino's many years ago. More... More
