My husband and I just went on a Vermont get away for our anniversary. We stayed at Smugglers Notch which is lovely but is in a very small town where we didn’t think we would find much in the way of good, imaginative food. We...were wrong! We went to the Martell’s at the red fox and had a wonderful dinner and excellent service. Two nights later we came back for our anniversary dinner and it was even better. We are CT foodies and were extremely impressed with the food, the chef does and amazing job! Lily, our waitress was also excellent! Hat’s off to the Chef and staff at this cozy, country Vermont restaurant.More

We went to this restaurant twice while we were in town. The menu was large enough to satisfy everyone in our great. The dishes were hearty and filling. Also a great range of local brews. I would definitely recommend this spot while in the area!

When my group of friends go out to eat we typically choose Martell's at the Red Fox. We are always assured of a tasty meal and great service. Their menu has a little something for everyone and many times I choose one or two of...their appetizers for the main meal. All their meals have generous portions. I usually go out for an evening meal but recently took advantage of their lunch only menu. The Reuben sandwich was great - the meat, sauerkraut, and dressing done in-house. I would definitely recommend Martell's to anyone visiting in the area.More

My husband and I brought our son to Smugglers Notch for a quick getaway. This restaurant was close by, and accommodating with reservation time, so we decided to try it. It is on the smaller side, but comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff - perfect for...a dinner after skiing all day. The food is excellent! I had the blackened chicken Alfredo, and it may be one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had at a restaurant. My husband had the jambalaya and enjoyed it. Would absolutely eat here again.More

Food was good, portions were plentiful and price was reasonable. We started with the flatbread of the day (delicious!) and some perfectly cooked fries. Entrees were the steak tips, duck confit, and the chicken sandwich. Everything was very good. Service was good & drinks were...reasonably priced. Would definitely return!More

We went to Martell’s very hopeful for a great experience based on other reviews, but ended up having just an okay dinner. The appetizers were both disappointing and we even sent one back. My husband enjoyed his steak, not great, but not bad either. My...salmon was bland, flavorless. The best part of the meal was dessert. We were on vacation at Smuggler’s Notch, and next time we return, we probably won’t go back to Martell’s.More

We were so pleased to find a casual, affordable dinner option so close to Smugglers Notch that was open 7 nights a week! Great to have a place where we can prepare our breakfast and lunch at Smuggs, but sometimes you just want dinner out...and Martell's did not disappoint. Great local cider and beer selections and our dinners were really good. The lemon caper salmon was cooked to perfection and came on a bed of fresh spinach and perfectly al dente fettuccini. My husband ordered the Mac and cheese with ham and loved it. Our daughter opted for the pulled pork sandwich with fresh cut fries and really enjoyed that. All in all, we were all very pleased with our meals and may return within our time here!More

We were really surprised my the quality and selection this Mountain/Ski Restaurant had to offer. The food was excellent. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We went back a second night, and were just as pleased as the first night. It was recommended by...Smugglers Notch Resorts, and we are so glad we listened. Nice hidden gem.More

Our compliments to the chef for delicious food from a menu that is varied for all palettes! We dined twice sampling apps, vegetarian offerings and scrumptious entrees. The risotto done to perfection, as well as tuna steak. Crab cakes were served with fresh tomatoes; please...to taste as well as wonderful presentation! The local beer selection is great!l. Definitely a comfortable place with lots of delightful delicious menu surprises! Close to Smudges! Our compliments to the owner and staff during these different times in the restaurant business.More

Solid place. Good service and food. They are hustling! Short handed as they all are but you’ll barely notice. Nice variety of quality food and diverse daily specials. Full bar, wine and good beer variety including craft beers. Reasonable prices. We’ve had 2 dinners here...in a week. Great local place. Give it a try!More

Late Thursday evening dinner after a day of horseback riding and hiking. Arrived shortly after 7pm and only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. Our wood table top was very sticky, appearing to have been cleaned with something that ruined the wood...finish (we saw the hostess wipe the table down prior to being seated, and have seen cleaning ruin wood tops such as this before). I had the Smug’s Straight Sour and Maple Manhattan cocktails, both mixed weak and not very good. We had the vegetable risotto and Mac-n-cheese, both large portions and delicious. Server was new and still learning, but did very well.More

Super nice and attentive waitstaff, even those not serving us. Came mid week but still busy. We split the mussels as an appetizer and they were delicious. I got the salmon as it came with risotto and I love both of these, it was truly...amazing. My husband got the steak tips and asked for them to be medium rare . They were overcooked but he ate them anyway ( I told him I’m sure they would have fixed it but he didn’t want to make a fuss. We will be back next time we are vacationing here as the atmosphere and open ness was really comfortable in this crazy time of covid and we would like to come back on a music night.More

Casual pub atmosphere; delicious salad, steaks, burgers, apps. Really delicious food. Friendly service although don’t go if you’re in a rush -- they are understaffed (as were all restaurants in the area during our stay.)
