The staff were all good and the place is nice, looked pretty clean and tidy. The Brussel sprouts with mushrooms app was delicious though I could have used a sauce. French Martini, yum and my friends drink was tasty she said. My friend loved her burger, I will say that much but it should be good for the price of it. Not too much on the menu for a fish eater so I had pasta with veggies, it was good with a bit of spice but the price of $25 Was excessive I thought. No protein in the dish and they wanted an additional $8 for chickpeas, the same price for added meat, can those items really cost the same to deliver? If so, we are all in trouble. I had had a nice salmon dish here when last I visited and was happy but this visit disappointed me.

We were staying near Hinesburg and this seemed the best choice for dining. We initially thought it was closed when we drove by, turns out, they just keep it really dark in there. Menu was slightly upscale pub food mostly. Of the options I was considering, the server recommended the fried chicken sandwich, and it was super tasty. We preferred it to the spicy chickpea sandwich, which seemed to suffer from a confluence of flavors. Service was friendly. Cocktails mediocre. Awfully dead on the Monday night we were there but it’s one of the few places around that are open on Mondays, so we were grateful for that.

We don't get to Hinesburg much, but my wife and I stopped in on a snowy Friday evening (our first choice was closed.) Got there a bit before 6:00. The place was not busy at all, and in the large room we were seated in, there was only one other table of two in there. So, for some strange reason, they seated us in the next table behind them. And one of the other two was an incessant loud talker. We know more about her life than most people we've known for years. I know you expect to have people around you in a public restaurant, but in a very empty space why wouldn't you space people out a bit? I know its a minor thing, but the hostess did not exhibit very good judgement. As for the meal, I had the Basque Stew and my wife the Fish and Chips. I had asked the waitress how spicy the stew was, and she said not spicy at all. We obviously have different definitions of spicy. It wasn't overly spicy, but definitely had a lot more kick than I had expected. If I had known, I would have ordered their grilled sourdough bread as an app to have something to calm down the spice. It would have been nice if the stew came with some bread. The stew was very good. One odd thing, there were like a half dozen fingerling potatoes ranging in size from a marble to the most massive fingerling potato I've ever seen. If I was the chef, I would have chosen to put some peeled potato pieces in. The larger fingerlings absorbed none of the juice and were quite dry. I couldn't even eat the large one. Again, the stew was good, it could have used a few changes and it would have been great. My wife had the fish and chips and she was quite pleased. The fish was huge and well cooked. It had a very robust coating, and the fish was nice an moist inside. The french fries had a nice seasoning and a little crunch to them. This was our first time there for dinner, we had brunch there once pre-pandemic. I'd try them again, but we like our first choice of restaurants in Hinesburg so much I doubt I'll get back there anytime soon.

A perfect outdoor evening from start to finish. We were cycling in the area and looking for a good brewpub type restaurant with a good beer selection and great food. We chose well! The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable, beverage selection wonderful ( I love when given suggestions, too!) food choices were amazing... something for everyone. All of our apps/entrees were delicious and plentiful. It was clear to us that the management has made the safety and health of its employees and customers a number one priority and made a for a very relaxing experience. Thank you Hinesburgh Public House for making the ending to our perfect anniversary day even more perfect. We will definitely return.

Loved the Cajun Shrimp Skillet! My husband and one of our party had the Hinesburgher - satisfying and affordable. Another had the chick pea wrap--nice vegetarian option for someone following a cardio-friendly diet. My only wish is that they posted their beer and wine list on their website.

We were promptly seated into a cozy both and waited before the waitress showed up… we ordered drinks and then apps and then waited…and then ordered another drink…and then waited. Apps came over 90 minutes after we were seated!!! In fact, the table next to us had finished their meal when we were still eating our apps…and then we waited for our meal…. So…we were in no rush…food was good and we enjoyed our time…but almost 3 hours until we walked in until we left…that’s not efficient…it was a busy Saturday night, but don’t you want to turn tables!?!? The waitress did apologize for the long wait and even comped us a round of drinks. I must say that the food was very good!!! Fresh tasty appetizers and entrees…all very tasty. One more concern…if you serve me a plate or glass…take the empty one away!!! We had a line of empty glasses sitting at the end of our table all night. It’s all about service…the waitress was very sweet…just needed some training…train your staff and you may succeed.

Sitting in a booth on an early winter evening with my husband of 35 years, in a town about 20 minutes from the University of Vermont, I was very happy that the pub food we had that evening was delicious. We shared a portobello mushroom burger, squash soup, a fresh salad and local beer. And for once, the young people who waited on us didn’t make us feel old - they were so friendly, had it not been snowing in early November, I would move to the area right now! If you are in the area go. Look at the menu on their easy to use website to find what you might want - drive, park, and enjoy! A great restaurant in a small town - a nice surprise.

I had a most wonderful evening this past Sunday evening at the Hinesburgh Publix House--I was brought there by a friend who thought I would like it and certainly would enjoy the piano musing of Sam Whitesell--wow wow wow--I certainly did enjoy both the food and the piano. Everyone was most gracious and it has a most friendly atmosphere. The food was plated in a novel and unique way which I thoroughly enjoyed. The only downside was when I ordered coffee after the meal--it was horrible..I had asked if it was fresh and told it was--but actually must have been two weeks before my visit..even that did not spoil my visit there and I can't wait to return...I will be MORE specific about my coffee next time...LOL You will be very happy to have found this place as was I...

So fun to have a great bartender. Food was delicious, Local and prepared perfectly. Great local beers on tap and a cozy atmosphere that keeps you relaxed and hanging out. I had the Drop In scotch ale and the beef tip pasta. My husband went for the potato soup and PEI mussels and a NE hazy IPA.

We ate dinner at the Hinesburgh Public House on Friday September 27, 2019. I have to say that the food was delicious. The Public House sources a lot of its ingredients locally so even something as simple as a burger comes out with craft food flavor. The beef in my burger was just great. Service was very friendly and professional. They have a really good selection of local beers and some ciders too. I highly recommend this place. It offers a very good value of quality to price.

Diner for two at HPHouse on a Sunday night, food and drinks and live music were fine but why do restaurants leave the piano top full open? I guess it's because they spent a lot of $$ on a baby grand and want people to look inside, but there is NO WAY that venue needs al that volume. I had to raise my voice constantly to be heard. A venue such as Public HOuse should shut the piano cover totally, or at least use the short stop. especially with the modern metal ceiling which reverberates the sound all over. Please help your patrons dine effortlessly.

When you are looking for a place to live in this town, you can’t be too picky - but luckily this place has some good food and a better atmosphere. In summer, it will be nice to sit outside.

My niece wanted to treat me to dinner on my visit to the USA. This was a favorite location for her and she had been there before. This was a mid week visit, and I guess that they were just overwhelmed . It was not busy and we stood first in a rapidly filling queue behind us, at the seating desk. More than five minutes went past and no sign of anyone paying attention to us and the Queue growing behind us. In fact one couple left. Servers came and went behind the desk carrying plates but we were ignored and not even spoken to or welcomed. Eventually we were seated and there was plenty of choice of where to sit. We had a starter of fried Brussels sprouts which were excellent, to share, as we waited for our main course. The spare ribs that I had were without any doubt the worst that I have ever had in any country in the world. They were so obviously overcooked , in fact cremated, that the chef should not have sent them out in that state. I could play the drums on them with my fork. Our server “ Sophie”, was charming and defused the tension as much as possible. I asked her to show the ribs to the manager. He didn’t come to the table and as a way of apologizing he asked Sophie to offer us a sweet on the house . I just wanted to leave as I was feeling embarrassed as it was a recommendation and treat from my niece. I am sure from reading other reviews that this was not a normal night.

HPH is a great local restaurant with a varied menu, specials and great food. Monday is Burger night and burgers are half price!! It’s a GREAT deal!! Was there Monday evening and because I could only eat soft food, I asked if I could have some of the risotto without the chicken and they totally accommodated me!
