We had two of the specials: eggplant baked with a cheese coating and salmon florentine. I requested "medium rare" for the salmon and the result was melt-in-your-mouth, i.e., just right. We shared a lemon ricotta cake for dessert and had sauvignon blanc wine with dinner. A tasty relish tray of pickled beets and chickpeas with onion was presented while we... More

We stayed at the Marble Mansion B&B, walking distance from this restaurant. Truly live up to their slogan "The Poets of Fish". We asked the waiter for recommendations and heard her's along with a older couple that eats there every night. The Chef, hearing our requests came out with the appetizers and included "Spanacopita" for our tasting. Four of us... More

We recently had dinner at the Fair Haven Inn located in beautiful Vermont. The exterior building was beautifully decorated with porch furniture and lovely potted flowers and hanging baskets. We were warmly welcomed and seated by the hostess and owner of this iconic restaurant that has been around for the past 44 years. The interior was also nicely decorated, featuring... More

We went for dinner here during our bike ride. Susie was our waitress and was able to take everyone's orders and get them to the right people. Kudos to the kitchen as they were all to serve all the mains at just about the same time. I had the vegetarian moussaka. It was lighter than the regular moussaka. I was... More

Obviously this place is our favorite eatery in Vermont - something about the Greek salads (fennel and hints of fresh mint) and that fresh bread ! Never change and we will still come up from Boston to taste the sweet scallops (Panko!) and all your other amazing delights - you ARE truly the POETS of FISH!

It took us 40 minutes to drive here but it was well worth it. The place was beautifully done. The menu offered a variety of choices. Portions were substantial and the prices were very reasonable. The staff was most attentive and professional.

Staying in Fair Haven we were looking for a good restaurant for dinner that we could walk to. Found the Fair Haven Inn and we were very pleased with our find. Sat in their tavern area at the bar for dinner. They have a bar menu of a half dozen specials daily that are a great value. Hubby had chicken... More

How can you not like a place that calls itself 'The Poets of Fish'? We were asking for directions and the woman that gave us directions said the calamari was the best in the world. It was certainly the best calamari we have had in New England. The portions of calamari are perfect for an appetizer; the portions of entrees... More
