Great atmosphere, friendly service, and buzz. We attended the seasonal German-Austrian Buffet Dinner that offered eight kinds of main courses, plus starters, soup, and dessert. An excellent value.

We loved the food! Very family friendly and the original architecture and decor is amazingly well maintained! We will be spreading the word in the townships! Bravo!

Fritz, the executive chef here worked for the cruise lines for years where he perfected his skills, and what skills he has! We had dinner and breakfast here and it was all great! If you're anywhere near here, be sure to stop, but make dinner...reservations as it is surprisingly packed at night.More

We had the pleasure of staying at The Derby Line Village Inn in August. Upon check in Paula (Owner) asked if we would be dining at the Inn that evening. BEST decision EVER! Fritz (Owner/Chef) is amazing! The food absolutely over the top! Service was...great! We sat at the bar and tasted some lovely wines from Fritz’s home region in Austria! The highlight was when Fritz came out of the kitchen with his accordion and all the diners broke out in song…..ADELWEISS! Cannot wait to go back! Thank you Paula and Fritz for a wonderful experience!More

This was an unexpected but terrific dining experience. The food and service were both outstanding. The atmosphere nothing special but very nice and somewhat unusual. Many separate rooms with interesting decor. Loved the authentic German/Austrian cuisine. Well worth the visit. Terrific value as the prices...are very reasonable.More

What a delightful find! Superb Austrian cuisine and old world service in a charming inn setting. On a blustery, rainy night we braved the drive from Burke 45 minutes away, and it was worth it. I had the Jaeger schnitzel and my wife had the...sauerbraten. Both were superb, and the servings were generous, so we also had a great lunch the next day! We look forward to our next visit!More

Great pasta and service. The pasta was homemade with salmon, mussels and shrimp. Came hot hot and delicious. Had Molly for our waitress she is awesome and fun. Everyone in our party of four loved the meal. Great place.

Best B & B ...so glad my son and I were able to stay here, eat a wonderful dinner and enjoy a delicious breakfast! The pancakes that Fritz made were amazing and can't wait to visit again next time I am in Vermont. The rooms...are so cozy and have such charm. We had a wonderful and restful stay. Our first stay at the Derby Line Village Inn and it will not be our last: the hosts, Paula and Fritz were friendly and accommodating; our room was large, quiet and had a very comfortable king bed; finally, the food was excellent, both supper and...the breakfast next morning. The area offers trails for snowshoeing, XC skiing and biking. We'll be back to try the rail trail to Newport and again enjoy the fine hospitality and great food.More

The hype is absolutely real about the food. The food is better than Burlington's greats, at the same price or less, and without the crowd/waits. Draft beer selection offers great German beers made locally and Paula said she normally has a red wine that is...extremely popular and regularly stocked. The appetizers are from $7-14 and are a must because they are uniquely delicious and made fresh (rather than frozen apps trying to get you to purchase more). Salads and rolls with house cheese butter was great and then it doesn't matter what entree you get (many $25) because they are all perfectly prepared, beautifully presented, and EYE-CLOSING delicious. Haha you will close your eyes when you eat Fritz's fresh mushrooms, tender meats, or sliced potatoes. Dessert was amazing at another $7 and although that may buy two pints of good ice cream, Fritz's desserts are an EXPERIENCE. It is truly a beautiful EXPERIENCE dining there because of their food, however the atmosphere and service do it the justice it deserves. And pre-Covid19 they had live music,...I can't even imagine how fun that would be at this venue! The Majestrate room was very dated to be honest, and whether some would label it rustic charm or not, it neither here nor there, because the bed was comfy, the shower was great, and free strong wifi provided. I hope to get organized enough to display the beautifully presented breakfast that we're still thinking and talking about and writing a review about. I hope them as much success and happiness as possible but that they'll still be able to fit us in the door for a reservation in the future ;-)More

Stayed twice, both visits were so relaxing, great staff makes you their priority. Fritz owner chef puts his years of experience to create culinary delights. Wife Paula just asks how to make your visit better. We dined on the patio, not rushed, excellent service. The...food is great! fritz makes his own sausages, and many other items in addition to the menu. Examples: puff pastry-so light and flakey, a salmon gravlox & dill sauce appetizer. 5 rooms nicely decorated, so book ahead, also suggest dinner reservations. Hope you enjoy your visit as much as we did.More

This was my first sit down dinner since February due to the COVID-19 pandemic. First I saw all the employees doing there part for safety. They wore masks and the restaurant was set up for social distancing. That was the safety portion, how new that...is now part of a review. The food was excellent. I had a flat bread pizza for an appetizer and there seafood pasta for main course. Both were awesome. I also will mention the house salad was the best, really enjoyed the dressing and potatoes in the salad. Keep up the effort and thank you for a great meal.More

I would agree but at McDonald's you can't see the server's footwear, so how would he possibly know whether it is a good place to eat or not? LOL
