After visiting Vermont Country Store we stopped in Chester at Moon Dog, a quaint cafe serving coffees, teas, pastries, soups, salads and probably more but we each chose a bowl of soup. I had carrot-ginger and hubby had pea-soup. The chunks of ham were large. Soup was so thick the spoon could stand up in it. He said it was... More

After our 27 mile bike ride we needed to eat and came across the Mood Dog not far from where we originally parked the car. My wife had a mixed salad consisting of curry chicken, tuna and hummus and I had an absolutely wonderful mushroom barley soup. We each had smoothies that were fantastic.

We stopped here a couple of times when passing through on the long route to Rutland. The Mood Dog is pretty funky and casual with great sandwiches and salads, and baked goods to make it perfect. They also have a suite of nifty stuff to shop among from clothes to foods to souvenirs. You'll like it.

Loved the vibe and the food at this place. They offered a menu with great selection at lunch. My sandwich was great with local cheeses and very fresh ingredients. My friend's salad looked amazing. There was also selection of local produce and some lovely soaps and seasonal decorative items for sale as well.

Very nice menu. Cafe has somewhat limited indoor seating. Chicken burrito was excellent but it took a half hour for it to be served. Has a sixties flare and is a nice place to eat.

The food is just so delicious! The ambience is both old and familiar. The restaurant is on Main Street in an old beautiful building. The food is prepared homemade on site. If you are vegetarian and or vegan this place is also for you. My wife and I were siteseeing the museums at Woodstock and Plymouth Notch and came here... More

We found this restaurant on Yelp. It is astounding! My wife ordered the Tuna Melt and I ordered the Clam Chowder and 1/2 Apple and Ham Sandwhich. The chowder is a light, not overly creamy sauce with a hint of Dill and packed with clams and potatoes; it is absolutely the best I have ever had - beyond a doubt!... More

I love to eat here with my friends after school or on the weekends because the environment is cool and casual. The food is great and you know that comes from good places. Highly recommend the grilled cheese! Great price for what you're getting.

Always yummy food, slightly more expensive than I'd like (hence the four stars) and the vibe is odd -- not bad, just a little odd -- but the coffee, wraps and scones are very delicious.
