Two friends and I came over because our wives were at a hen-party. All 3 of us had heard about MacLaomainn's but had never stopped. Were had a great meal and great time. The food and beverages were delicious. The Cock-a Leekie soup was thick, creamy and tasted like a fine chowder. We had the Haggis Lovers plate, the Fish... More

Small pub with outside tables do not be adventurous as the Haggis Is not for the faint of heart no pun intended. Not for kids they were unfortunately repulsed(sausage she said but (with internal organs of a cow) The beers were good And the burgers but they came only with chips no fries really? Waitress was pleasant Nothing stuck out... More

This is a very fun local pub that is well-patronized. We were here for an early dinner on a Friday and we took the last indoor table (outdoor was empty due to a pending storm). It was a bit hot and sticky inside as it seemed their AC just couldn't keep up with people and outdoor heat and humidity. Otherwise,... More

The location is easy to find. Parking was simple. The ambiance is inviting and fun. The staff is warm and a wee bit on the wild side, just a wee bit. They know what they're doing and all the details about the menu items. The menu options are plenty, and they're intriguing. Our food was excellent and plentiful. I would... More

We happened to be passing through Chester, VT around dinner time and saw the sign by the road. We were glad we stopped. I have never been to Scotland and can't vouch for the authenticity, but everything was good. I had auld reekie, a stew with sausage, cabbage, carrots and potatoes. It was very good. My companion had haggis, the... More

Many Inns and restaurants have a set lunch and dinner time. Pubs are different, lunch or dinner can be at anytime. We were tired from antique shopping and just wanted a sandwich at 4PM. Everyone else was closed or we would have to wait one hour until the night crew was working. We saw Mac Laomainn's Scottish Pub and knew... More

My husband and I recently visited MacLaomainn's Scottish pub. We wanted a more casual dinner and decided to try the Pub versus a more formal dinner in town. We loved it! Not only was the food delicious but the company was grand! We started out trying a local beverage. My husband tried a flight of Scottish ales and I had... More

This place is charming and the service is friendly. We've visited a number of times with my in-laws -- it's one of their favorite places. Great beer, good sandwiches. My father-in-law loves the auld reekie stew and I can recommend the haggis from previous visits. Do not get the nachos -- it would be fair to say that was a... More
