This a a bright, casual place with really good food and good service. I ordered the Tortilla Soup and it was perfectly seasoned and very fresh. My husband had the fish tacos and he really enjoyed them. I understand this is a neighborhood gem and popular with the locals, and I fully understand why.

Visit the Penny Cluse Cafe when you are hungry (the wait just incites your senses). The atmosphere is lively and upbeat. The portions are large. The scrambled egg tacos are made with any variety of add-ins. They are served with home fries and black beans. I tried the garlicky kale, and could have made it my breakfast! Bottomless cup of... We had a short ten minute wait. The service was fast and so was the food. I ordered the eggs and polenta, which was very good, and my husband tried the biscuits and gravy, which he couldn't stop talking about for most of the afternoon. We both agreed we would have easily waited 30 minutes or more if we had... More

This is not the place to go if you're in a hurry. We were there on a weekday morning, and the line went out the door. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we eventually had a great table on the second floor by the window. The banana bread with maple-walnut cream cheese was insanely good. I ordered one of... We had breakfast with a friend from California. Food was good, though I really did not like their link sausage recipe. Waitstaff were pleasant and easygoing. We got there early so could linger and talk until the lines formed. Good place, good menu!

My husband and I went here for breakfast while on vacation and I'm so happy we did. We arrived 10 minutes before there were open and there was a small line to get in. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The coffee was good and the food was amazing and fresh! I recommend their biscuit and herb gravy, it... More

Though I'm vegetarian I've never been a big fan of the tofu scrambles some places try to pass off on their breakfast menus, so I was very skeptical when I tried it. The peanut ginger sauce is amazing! If you ask for this item as a vegan option then you can substitute hash browns for fresh fruit--and I got much... More

I went with my family back in July. It was a good time food was great, building was nice and cost was relatively reasonable. But it gets busy and by the time we got in it was only an hour from closing time so we had to rush a bit. But I think I will go back one day. Give... More

Polenta with eggs is the best breakfast ever! It doesn't get any better for breakfast than this place! I like sitting at the counter for extra special service.

My wife and I enjoyed this fun restaurant for a quick and delicious lunch. Our only regret is that the restaurant was not air conditioned. With outdoor temps in the 90s, the interior was just at hot. But the food and service were great.
