The ambiance of this place drew me in. Its very quaint and romantic. We all ordered the same dish, it was a special dish that night. Scallops in a light cream sauce over homemade pasta. The scallops were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The pasta was excellent. The sauce was delicious and flavorful. The calamari appetizer was done just right and served with two delicious homemade sauces. The bread served before dinner was rich and warm. They had an excellent wine selection. Best of all was the service. Our waiter Jeff managed to pull off 5 star service and was extremely polite and attentive. I will come back here anytime I come back to Burlington.

We were nervous walking through the old wood door and down into the dark restaurant. But our experience was excellent. Server Amanda was lovely and helped with our selections: fresh, home made pasta with mushrooms, a REAL Caesar salad, short ribs that my companion said melted in his mouth. Manager Jordan was also great and seated us at a table that was perfect for privacy. I would give it 5 stars but the decor and atmosphere need updating.

Delicious warm bread was served with an herb butter. Swordfish was cooked and seasoned nicely. Pasta dishes were very good. Cooked a nice al dente and flavorful. The bones I have to pick are about a traditional bucatini pasta dish that is supposed to include guanciale. It is a cured pork product much like pancetta. The kitchen used a smoked ham. That would never happen in Rome! Another minor thing was the tough fava beans with the swordfish special. The dish would have been perfect with tender beans. Don’t let these two minor flaws stop you though, the food and wines were great.

We had been here four years ago (live across the state) and looked forward to returning. The Italian food and wines are even better than we had remembered. The service by Mary was pleasant, knowledgeable, and attentive. I had noticed eggplant caponata as an accompaniment on one of the antipasti and asked if we could be served a helping of the caponata itself as an appetizer, and they brought us plenty for the four of us. That flexibility is a good sign of an excellent restaurant. I had as my entree the tagliatelle con fungi, which was wonderful. The all Italian wine list is extensive, with a broad price range; there are several good offerings in the range of $42 per bottle; it goes up from there. We didn’t find the place expensive for the level of quality and ambience. Our bill for two shared (substantial) appetizers, four entrees, a bottle plus another single glass of wine, a large bottle of water, and no dessert came to just over $200 before the tip. You be the judge, but my experience is: that is a good deal. If you haven’t been there, try it. And ask for the caponata.

My wife and I had high hopes about this place but ended up disappointed. The food was good for a neighborhood Italian restaurant, but at this price point I expect it to be much better. For example, I had the Bucatini all’ Amatriciana; I like al dante, but the bucantini was almost undercooked. The sauce was fine, but nothing special But my biggest complaint was the service. They were nice enough, but it seemed very slow and unattentive. Yeah, I know, pandemic, but there seemed to be a lot of wait staff and other tables seemed to be getting their food faster. As I said, disappointed.

We were in Burlington and this restaurant was recommended to us. It did not disappoint. The duck batu appetizer was my favorite part of the meal. Delicious! I had the bolognese sauce on pasta and my husband had the braised short ribs. We split both because they were so good. Great wine selection and service. The atmosphere was relaxing and pretty. We will definitely return.

We had an incredibly lousy experience here. We had come before to celebrate various events and always had a good time. But on this particular night, we had an incredibly dismissive waitress that could barely spend two seconds at our table. The fish soup that I had ordered on recommendation was so incredibly salty that it was inedible. Painfully salty. But no one noticed as I had pushed the dish to the side, we finished up my partners orchette which was okay, not as good as in the past. We Waited probably 10 minutes after we were finished sharing his entrée before anyone came to check on us. At that point, I wasn’t going to put in for another entrée or have the kitchen remake something that I sent back. So we felt neglected and had been served totally inedible food. We were comped a tiramisu which was appreciated, but resembled Costco tiramisu instead of the rich rum soaked homemade variety that I’ve had here in the past. It’s expensive to go out for a date night and we chose to celebrate our anniversary. Kind of a bummer and I’ll make reservations elsewhere in the future.

Under new management as of about 2 years ago. Same people now own/manage this restaurant plus a high end pizza place (Pizza Veneta) and wine bar (Sotto Enoteca) - all in a row, all good. Significant improvements in menu, food quality, service quality and ambience. Now a regular place for family groups (New Year's eve, pre-show dinners or couples). Need to allow two hours for a good meal! We have seated tables of 10 and 12 without a problem. Service is very attentive, but not over-powering). Wait staff are well trained and experienced. It's not easy to get 12 entrees all on the table within seconds of each other (and all hot). Food quality is top notch, Menu is varied enough for everyone. Leslie, the owner is friendly and very welcoming. Say Hi I recommend it highly

Whilst a limited menu, there was still a good selection and what we chose had great flavour and was plentiful, my 3 year old ate most of his pasta and that’s testament to the flavour as he can sometimes be fussy. Our server Eliza was very attentive and we didn’t at any time feel rushed considering the restaurant got very busy. I would recommend if in Burlington.

Our first visit to Burlington VT, and happy to enjoye great restaurants, Trattoria Delia among them. The dining room is very casual and cozy, with warm and friendly service. Cocktails were top notch, and we found a good mix of traditional Italian dishes, but some with very interesting twists. We tried a delicious salad, which was not your standard green salad, but a mix of grains, cheese and apples that really did all work together. The home made gnocchi were also very good. Be sure to have a reservation, this and all the other restaurants in the area seemed very busy.

Our destination dinner group has gone from restaurants over the last many years from the Champlain Islands to Manchester from Burlington to Montpelier. Our trip to Trattoria Delia was outstanding among them. Imagine a cold snowy Vermont night and you descend into the restaurant and meet a roaring fire. The service by Eliza was friendly without being chummy, professional, without being condescending, accommodating with our requests such as slightly changing the spice level of a dish and adding mashed potatoes to another. She obviously enjoys her work. The food was excellent. The desserts were ravishing. The drinks soothing.. Obviously, we highly recommend this restaurant.

We arrived at the restaurant, when the staff found out we were on our honeymoon, it wasn't long and we had a glass of champagne to toast. The food was AMAZING! We had Mary as our waitress who took care of our every need, and shared her personal journey. We had appetizer calamari that was so tasty, and the steak was cooked and seasoned perfect! Atmosphere was elegant, romantic, and absolutely delightful.

Reservations are a must! The place has a great vibe for dining. We had the calamari for appetizer and it was lightly fried and served with marinara sauce. It was delicious but the two of us could not finish it. For entre we had the spaghetti with shrimp and pasta with ragu. Both had house made pasta which was al dente. Service was prompt and not rushed. The pace was perfect.

Our last night in Burlington could not have been better. A couple of people recommended Trattoria Delia and we are glad they did. I am not sure what we expected but, it was great. The restaurant has a cozy feeling inside that just makes you take a breath and relax. The entire menu is fabulous. The bread and herbed butter they serve is wonderful. We ordered the Burrata appetizer and it did not disappoint. We each had a special that and they were out of this world. What made the evening though was our server, Mary. She made us feel welcome and never rushed. Great recommendations. She is the best!

Outdoor dining on a gorgeous summer evening! Appetizer: She, the Batu, duck leg confit and eggplant caponata. Me, the antipasto misto, simple and what an antipasto should be. Mains: She: Lobster fra Diavolo, me: duck & gnocchi in a rich cream sauce. Dessert: She, cannoli, me: Tiramisu. Both done perfectly! Server: impeccable timing, fabulous menu depth of knowledge
