Well, the food there was ok, but nothing out of the ordinary. My Schnitzel was smothered in a sauce, and although it was tasty, it wasn't your super traditional german fare. The place was pretty dead when we went there, and the food still took...More

This was the first German restaurant I've ever been to and it was really good. First off, if you go on a Friday or Saturday night, call ahead and make reservations. My boyfriend and I found this place by walking around and had to wait...More

Das Bierhaus is a must every time we visit Burlington. The beer selection is great and innovative (grapefruit weizen). German dishes as tasty and authentic. Everything is handmade and delicious. Favorites included KÄSESPÄTZLE (you'll never want plain old Mac & cheese again), Dumplings and SCHNITZEL...More

This place has great beer. The selection is huge and they even have German beers that are difficult to get in Germany. The range is really fabulous. This establishment has three levels with an awesome rooftop biergarten. The waitresses (dressed in authentic dresses) are super....More

My husband and I had an early dinner here. Staff was attentive and the chef brought up our meals. My husband is half German and we've been to Germany many times so we have means for comparison. The wienerschnitzel was well prepared with a delicious...More

We stopped by here hoping to get some good authentic German food. I miss my mom's German cooking and REAL German food is hard to find. I had a Jagr Schnitzel with Red cabbage. The Schnitzel was delicious but the cabbage was not what I...More

They made a great effort to make this an authentic German restaurant. Great German menu, beer selection and style. We had 7 in the party, so we tried a little of everything. You won't be disappointed. Definitely get the pretzel! PS We lucked out and...More

Located on the south end of church street (beyond the 'pedestrian only' section), if the weather is nice, the rooftop garden is definitely worth a visit. They have a good beer selection (european and domestic) and a variety of sizes so you can try a...More

At Das Bierhaus you will find authentic German, Austrian and Swiss family recipes made with local, organic ingredients and served alongside the world's best beers! Prost! A note on our food:We have searched far and wide to bring you these traditionally inspired meals. Our dishes are homemade, using locally-sourced and produced ingredients wherever possible. They are based on authentic German, Austrian and Swiss family recipes and served with a twist of Vermont. We are dedicated to continuing old-world culinary traditions. As such, we support local farms and operate with no microwave and very limited freezer space — everything is fresh. Nothing is pre-packaged. Our food is prepared from scratch, and cooked with love.Das Bierhaus is a Chef-Owned Establishment. A note on our beer: We dedicate 100% of our draft lines to German biers. Our selection varies based on availability and seasonal variety. We constantly source new, limited, and/or up-and-coming biers from home and abroad, so there should always be something new to taste. Finally, we regularly pursue new German acquisitions and navigate the state’s regulatory system to bring them to you on tap.
