Splash at the Boathouse is situated right on Lake Champlain. It is at the base of College Street and easy to reach on foot. The restaurant is mostly outdoors, so a bit hot on sunny days. But still offers lots of shade.
Service was friendly and fast.
We ordered fish tacos and coconut shrimp. Both were very good!
Both were well priced
The view of the lake from the dinning dock is very enjoyable.
All in all a very pleasant experience.

Good meal! We arrived at approximately 7:30 pm and made our way down to the restaurant. We were seated immediately at a table overlooking the lake. We were offered something to drink, and were given the menus. I ordered the New England clam chowder and the lobster roll which had Maine lobster with mayonnaise, celery and lemon on a grilled roll, sweet potato fries and coleslaw. My mom got the coconut shrimp which came with mango chili sauce, fries and slaw. The clam in the soup was a little tough and difficult to chew, but otherwise the main course was very appetizing. The views of the lake were spectacular and the environment was very peaceful and serene.
Tip: I recommend spending an hour here if you want to have a nice relaxing meal on the water.

The deck provides a great place to enjoy views of the lake. Simply amazing as sunset approaches.
The menu is okay but heavily snacks, burgers, tacos, and fried foods. We were there on taco night. That's a great bargain. Unfortunately the order and service were just okay. My mother's and my tacos came on one plate and it took several minutes to get a second plate. It took asking twice for black pepper.
I wonder certainly go again but probably for drinks and snacks rather than dinner

We went in for drinks and basically we were told to go to the bar area and we did. As soon as we sat down they came and told us we could not sit there. Then we looked for another place and there was not one that had a table. Only metal chairs in the blazing sun. We then tried upstairs and went into a room where no one was sitting and no staff was there. We sat down. Not bothering anyone. A rude waitress came and told us to leave. This restaurant does not want you here unless you make a full dinner reservation and is not helpful in trying to find you a table. I hope the hostess staff receives customer training and a reprimand.

Located on Lake Champlain, the views are amazing. Service is excellent, Sarah was outstanding. Food is fresh and well prepared and there was no problem substituting sweet potato fries for regular. Clam chowder was large and tasty. Fish and chips excellent. Salads were well made and fresh. View cannot be beat. We will definitely be back.

We were seated on the patio in a Covid safety bubble. The setting could not be more beautiful. The sky was cloudy and a soft wind blew across Lake Champlain. As busy as they were, the wait staff did not let things lapse. The clam chowder, while delicious, was a stingy serving. Not a good choice for a meal unless you aren't really hungry. The coconut shrimp basket is a great choice. Lots of meaty shrimp to sustain you. Also recommend the wines. We sat for hours without being rushed off by the staff. Bathrooms need more attention.

When we were in Burlington last week for a couple of days, I made my restaurant selections based on outdoor seating. Splash excels in this regard. Distancing was adequate and we very much enjoyed watching the sun set on Lake Champlain. Constant Companion and I both enjoyed lobster rolls and I the clam chowder with bacon as well. Food was not bad. Service could have been a tad better. But, all things considered, it was a very enjoyable experience in these Covid times.

This was our second time eating here. We came to Burlington specifically to eat here because we enjoyed it so much the last time. The restaurant is right on the water and has a fantastic view of Lake Champlain. Since we were there on a Sunday, we did not have much trouble finding parking.
We had the Malibu Rum Coconut Shrimp, Chicken Taco, Fish Taco, and Smoked Salmon Flat Bread. For drinks we had the Dark 'n Stormy and Barbs Ark.
The food was good, and the ambiance delightful.

One star for the bright airy space with lovely views both east and west. Zero for everything else. First the counter person: she was a teenager, and a surly unfriendly one at that. No matter how hard I tried to get her to smile, she remained uninterested in the transaction. I shared a cob salad ($17) and a "cup" of chili ($7) with my friend. The chili was tasty, but the serving amount was laughable. I asked the person who brought it why she hadn't actually filled the cup to the top. She said, "That's the amount we serve." As for the cobb salad: it barely filled the small bowl. It included browned lettuce leaves, tough squares of turkey, plenty of bacon, and a pathetically old hard boiled egg that was inedible. When I asked for another plastic cup of dressing, I was told it might be awhile since the kitchen is downstairs. I am glad Splash is trying out these new hours and adding breakfast and lunch (all summer this is a great place to go for cocktails and sunset-watching), but they really need to work harder at the quality of their food and service. A nice view is not enough to warrant a $26 lunch.

I paid $71 for soggy fries swimming in a pool of oil underneath a piece of oil-soaked, burnt fish. To try to improve the taste of the oily fish, they gave me a dried-out slice of lemon, along with tartar sauce that smelled spoiled and could have walked away from the table itself. The drink I ordered, Rock the Dock, was disappointing - it was watered down and had no flavor. Despite the beautiful view, the experience was ruined by the bad food and drink.
To make matters worse, the soda tasted like soap and was flat, and part of our order was not served, but we were still charged for it. The server was only attentive when taking our order and delivering the check.
Overall, it was a big disappointment, especially considering the beautiful view. The cost of the meal and parking did not match the underwhelming experience.

We had lunch at Splash after a 14 mile bicycle ride on the Waterfront Bike path our goal was the Causeway, we weren't in shape for it hadn't been on a bike in tens years or more. Lunch was good I had the beef tacos, views from the Splash are simply awesome, sail boats docking for lunch was cool. Service was very good. Views of Lake Champlain awesome.

We were in town during the Festival of Fools weekend and stumbled upon Splash. It was rather warm but the hostess was able to seat us out of the sun so we could see the activities happening on the lake(dragon boat races). The waitress was quick to take our order and our food was served within a reasonable amount of time. My husband got the wrap and said it was very tasty and I ordered the buffalo chicken tenders and fries which were also very good. We will eat here again if ever back this way.

Got a table upstairs with the gorgeous view of Lake Champlain. We ordered food drinks and appetizers and everything came out under 15 minutes and was delicious. Never in my life have I seen such fast and excellent service.
10/10 spot.

We came down to the waterfront to find some place for dinner. This was the first place we saw and decided to try it out. So glad we did. Large variety of seafood with the lobster coming from my state, large selection of alcohol and is right on the water. We eat on the deck on the shore and were able to watch beyond come to the restaurants docks on their boats and watch the sunset over the lake. Splash at the boathouse was definitely a highlight of the trip!

Stopped in for some drinks & appetizers. My husband ordered a bowl of the clam chowder. It was good but the bowl arrived only 1/4 full?? I would have questioned it but left to use the restroom when it arrived. (You know men don’t ask questions) We ordered the lobster sliders app as per suggested by a previous reviewer. Each one was supposed to have a different unique flavor. Barley any lobster meat & we both could only distinguish the butter flavored one. At $27 for 3 sliders, felt totally ripped off. Anyway, like I said, view only. 1 draft beer, 1 quarter bowl of soup & 1 appetizer amounted to $50! Save your money…
