SLOOOOOOOW SERVICE

Go for the view not the speed of service. Yes the view is great for sunset but the service was incredibly slow. Took almost an hour for our drinks and food to arrive. They were sold out of ahi tacos and they just randomly, without asking, sub some other tacos for one of our group. They also gave us a random chicken sandwich in lieu of another taco order. We kept it becaue we didn’t want to have to wait for another hour and we were starving. Still after asking 3-4 times for our drinks, and asking the server, the runners and another server where our drinks were the only answer was they were “on the board” . What does that even mean??? We had been waiting fb hour!!!! They then brought 2 bud lights (we still needed 2 Green States lagers, a vodka soda and another drink) we waited another 16 minutes for them. I was done my soggy BLT before I had my beer. Don’t go here if you want prompt or competent service. 3 stars is only becaue of the view.

worst nachos ever

This is a casual restaurant in a nice spot at the edge of the lake and the food is usually ok. I had the worst nachos ever. It wasn't real cheese but some sort of thin white sauce poured over the chip. The 'chorizo' as a tasteless, red, ground up substance. They usually have a salsa on it that is loaded with onion but because I asked or no onions, that is all there was. They were unable to provide diced tomatoes even on the side. Terrible. I gave this 3 stars because the others in the party had fish tacos and burgers and they looked ok but if it was only based on the 'nachos' it wouldn't even deserve one. Service was ok despite the busy hour.

Good food, nice setting

The Half Moon Chicken Salad was really good. The Black Bean Burger was tasty. I can’t believe that they came with potato chips instead of fries. Tacky. I wanted to have the fish tacos but am not a fan of Tilapia. Again a tacky menu item. The service and the overall experience was good.

Great staff, great food, and

Great staff, great food, and great atmosphere. Vermont has reopened for dining in, but it was extremely tough to find a place that offered that. It was in the mid 90s and AC was much needed. My daughter, sister and I decided to walk along the water and one of us noticed spot on the dock. Upon a google search we noticed that you must reserve a table online to secure your seat. There was only one slot available so we took that. We chose a seat under the deck, which had a great view of Lake Champlain and a nice breeze. As an appetizer we got the Queso Nachos which was very good. The meals were the Beyond Burger, the Cloudbreak Salad, and Livin the Dream salad with Chicken. Everything was terrific and I would highly recommend again.

Not as good as the original “Spot”

I am a fan of the “Spot” on Shelburne Road and went to this restaurant with my 92 year old mother because that “Spor” is no longer opening in the evening. These two establishments are entirely different. Although the servers were friendly, kind and accommodating, the Spot in the Dock is not a full-fledged restaurant, but merely a bar and burger joint with a beautiful view. The menu is principally burgers and chips with few options. It didn’t have my mother’s favourite meal, nor her favourite drink, which is tea. I ask you, how hard is it to get a couple tea bags for the old folks.? There were no desserts. It took 45 minutes for my veggie burger and my mom’s BLT to arrive. There was no relish. The parking was $2.75/hr. I think this would be a great place to hang out and have a few drinks as the view is spectacular, but make no mistake, this is a burger joint, and not a restaurant.

Great location, but poor food and service. Calamari was extremely fishy/probably spoiled. Wrong meal served. Pina Colada ordered regularly was virgin. Wrong drinks brought to us. Nachos served with bland, runny sauce as opposed to real cheese. Hamburger dry, overcooked, small. Unfortunate, as setting is beautiful. Feel bad leaving a bad review of a local restaurant, but this was a disappointment.

Great view, service and food

My extended family of 4 had lunch there. The food was excellent (3 of us had salads) and portions were more than needed. A sweet potatoes side was enough for all. The service was good, it was early in Covid reopening, so things like having ask for pepper (packages came, not a shaker on table) was a bit strange but the staff handled it well; especially considering it had gotten quite busy. Also having to walk the entire way around the building to use the rest rooms was odd but it is the world we live in. The location is wonderful. There was a bit of changing weather and wind on the lake and it was fun to watch.

Delicious!

My family has been here twice and we've loved it both times! I highly suggest the calamari. Great views, great music, great staff, and they're being careful during COVID-19. My sister is vegetarian and my mom is gluten free and they both found things to eat that they enjoyed.

Sucky Service

As a local, every summer I hope the service will change. Dined again just recently at the bar and there were probably 8 people behind the bar area...all they did was focus on their well drinks and bar back up. They chatted amongst themselves and took forever to even recognize us. Drinks took forever. One of the reasons why we sit at bar area is to get attention to detail service. Once they took our drink order they did three to four other things before actually making our drinks. We cashed out and went to Splash. Highly recommend you do the same.

Food is just ok…atmosphere is great!

On the water, atmosphere is great, outside but can sit in the shade. Bartender did the bare minimum, no glass of water, never asked if I wanted a second drink, not very helpful with menu questions. Food is just average, nothing great for the price.

Decent food, good service, nice view

A large group of us had dinner at The Spot On The Dock. I thought that they do a great job of handling a large group at the last minute. The menu was a bit small, but there was a nice variety of food. The prices are a bit high but not beyond what you would expect at a place on the water. Our server had her hands full with the size of our group, but did a great job. Fortunately, we were in an isolated spot because the main areas are very crowded and noisy. There was a nice view of the sunset.

Sunset spot, average food.

We were told to eat here mainly because of the view. The wait time was 40 minutes, but that was ok as it is a nice place to wander about. My main complaint is that the service was pretty awful. Our server pretty much ignored us. The food was decent. First time having avocado fries and they were delicious. Both crispy and creamy. I ordered the fish tacos even though I don't usually eat Tilapia. They were very good. My daughter ordered the black bean burger and she enjoyed that as well. We just waited a long time for everything and even checked to make sure a drink order was put in. My daughter ended up there a couple nights later and had the same server. Just as bad. But at least it's comfortable and the view is gorgeous.

Great view.... That's about it

16.00 pina coladas had virtually no rum, had to ask to have some added. Food was very bland and overpriced for what you get. Server was very good. If you go, go for drinks and the view and stick to wine or beer.

Not Really About the Food

The Spot on the Dock is about sitting out by the water and enjoying the weather with friends. Nice views of the boats. Large dock area with tables for dining, bar, and couches for more comfortable conversation. Food is acceptable, but nothing special. Service is very friendly and accommodating. Prices are reasonable. Just enjoy the spot.

Don’t post hours if you don’t keep them

I have been coming the same time for the last 3 years in early August. If less than two tables they close the kitchen and this is at 8:15pm. Not even nice about it and very rude. Never again!
