I recently, early August, attended a Board Meeting of an organization I serve on in Williamstown, VT, next to Brookfield. On our drive to the meeting we avoided the interstate, instead opting to travel the less-traveled roads. We came through Brookfield, crossing the Floating Bridge and continuing on our way. In a conversation with my wife a few weeks earlier... More

Every review said this was a great restaurant, so it was a must try on my trip to Vermont. I was not disappointed, from the homemade bread, main course of gnocchi and baby garden vegetables with wild mushrooms,to the house made cherry pie, with cherries picked from the tree in the front yard and home made vanilla ice cream, marvelous!... Dinner was delightful. Gnocchi was so light and combined so well with the fresh vegetables. Loved the bread with the flavor and texture just right. The BEST was the cherry pie. Made with cherries from the property it was sweetened to to the correct amount of tart. The serving of homemade pure vanilla ice cream was a memory into it's... More

What a fabulous dinner and setting. The brussels sprouts were the best I'd ever tasted with a delicious Thai sauce. I had the farm dinner (it was a Sunday night) and my husband had the lamb on the menu. Everything was cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. The owner brought our wine personally and we had a lovely conversation. Sit on... More

Moved out of state and returned after 8 years. The food is excellent, as always, but the menu seems more limited. Gotta say we enjoyed every bite! Call first to be sure you want to eat what they are offering, because it's definitely worth the drive if you do!

Thanks so very much for coming, we hope to see you on your next trip. Just a note to say you can always look at our current menu on our website, as it changes monthly based on what our farmers bring me. Also we frequently have several specials which you can find out about with a phone call the day... More

I visited Ariel's twice at the beginning of this summer, and had wonderful experiences each time. The first night, I had the warm burrata that was on special, and it was fantastic. The confited tomatoes and the super fresh basil with the gooey cheese and the crunchy toast was at that point the most delicious thing I had ever eaten.... More

Went here with 6 people on my last night of living in Vermont and was so happy I did. From the moment we entered the door we were greeted by the owner and given a tour, mind you the place is tiny and tucked away in a remote town. We started with drinks which were amazing, I ordered a mojito... More

The location is wonderful. Off the beaten path and then some but made for an amazing afternoon. We hung out in the public space and swam in the lake next to Brookfield's floating bridge for a few hours before dinner. Friendly staff & engaging owner. Great service, and wonderful food. A fine dining experience in the middle of nowhere.

we were looking forward to the visit based on other reviews only to find Richard who "knew" more about anything than we did - no matter what the topic. When asked for a recommendation he responded that his wife was a perfect cook and everything was wonderful - which didn't help us. The menu is small and unchanging. When asked... More

I'm so sorry your experience at Arie's was not as you wished or expected it to be. We hope you do give us another chance, but first I'd like to respond to some of your comments. First, our menu changes every 3-4 weeks, based on what seasonal product our local farmers bring in. I keep it to 6-8 small plates... More
