We read a bunch of reviews for this place on Trip Advisor as well as Amazon and decided it would be the perfect place for a birthday dinner. Cautioned by the reviews we made reservations in advance and knew if we got there early we might have to wait outside. Well it turned out that hitting the slow spot between... More

We have eaten here perhaps 20 times over the last 30 years. Sometimes alone, sometimes with another couple, and once in a group of 20 who took the whole testautant. Great food artistically served with a very reasonably priced wine list.

After choosing a wine from the distinctive wine list, we started with the pheasant pate and the crab cakes. Artful presentation and delicious. Then salads - a delicate balance of so many ingredients made the salad more than a transition - it was a food stop all on its own. Then the main courses. The steak medium rare to perfection,... Yes, we flew from California just to dine at TJ Buckley's, and it was worth every air mile! Once again, we were delighted to have the most wonderful dining experience at this teeny weeny restaurant. We sat in the train car and peered into the kitchen to observe the making of the most beautiful and tasty dinners. Kudos to Chef... More

An intimate space, the fun of watching Michael prepare dinner (he seems to be in a Zen state -- and also, he's still pretty dreamy to look at) -- and then, delicious and beautifully plated food. Don't ever miss the pate plate appetizer! Salads are small works of art. Main courses always come with interesting accompaniments.

A special occasion kind of place and as special as you can get in a wide radius around Brattleboro. The converted rail car is intimate an open kitchen and low lighting. Service is understated and exacting. Menu rotates based on Michael Fuller's foraging and sourcing expertise. Best for couples or foursomes.

A client visiting from abroad once said that the way you can tell a really great restaurant is when the kitchen is larger than the dining area. This is true of T J Buckley's. From anywhere in the dining area you may watch the food being prepared. That is a true feast unto itself. An exquisite dining experience.

We have only eaten there twice in fifteen years, due to budget constraints. The food and service were excellent. The chef knows how to combine fresh, high-quality foods in amazing ways. I prefer having the menu in writing, and prices listed, so I can double -check my memory of what was said.

One of the better restaurants in New England, but tucked out of the way in Brattleboro. Exceptionally well-prepared and planned entrees & salads. VERY small: reservations needed almost always; can be filled up weekend nights. Most food is prepared where you can see it. Nice wine list. Parking not a problem, but on the street.
