This place has gone downhill quite fast. It used to be much better.I certainly can blame the pandemic for much of that they've lost a lot of staff and then got all new stuff that unfortunately the kitchen staff really isn't that good. I started with the lobster bisque which I think was the Blount brand. It's a soup brand that restaurants will sometimes buy. It was okay. For my main I had the clam strips as there were no whole belly clams available.they were terrible but without a doubt it was something that I could buy at a grocery store in the freezer section.the sweet potato fries however were very good but then again you could buy those at a supply stores such as restaurant Depot, or Sysco or US foods. Richard had the tilapia sandwich. I told him to get the fish and chips. The tilapia sandwich was definitely dry. The fries were definitely vendor sourced because I look like the fries that we go through our food service that come from Sysco. Showing head The shrimp basket. Each shrimp would absolutely identical. Definitely this came from a grocery store or a real low brand way below what I normally expect Sysco to provide. They were quite overcooked and quite dry. The wait was nearly an hour to get in which unfortunately is a waste of time considering the poor quality of the food if you want to drink yes definitely it's a great place to get a drink because you can sit right outside and drink in the parking lot under you don't even need to go in and eat dinner. the white stuff was definitely very good and did endeavor to do a good job and I tipped them accordingly. Location without a doubt is to me always been the real draw. You get to look over where the West River / Rock River merge with the Connecticut River. Very scenic.unfortunately we're probably going to pass this place by for the next couple years until things stabilized and hopefully they get some good properly trained kitchen staff. I mean anybody can open up a box and follow the directions if they can read.

Like another person here, the fried fish was so overdone, and french fries soggy, opt for the filet mignon with blue cheese which was cooked perfectly. Shrimp also over cooked. Yet they do make great appetizers, crab cakes were great, albeit 3 small ones on a plate. Service is slow, but if you are not in a rush, and enjoy the lovely view, it's a fun place to meet with friends & family.

First time at The Marina a few days ago enroute home from NY to Massachusetts. We ate on the outdoor deck, felt like sanitizing was well done and staff managed well with masks on etc. They even asked for contact info - just in case - for contact tracing. We both enjoyed our VT cheddar burgers and fries. So full, no room for dessert. Definitely will try to come back to The Marina when in this part of VT.

Stopped in on our way up north this past weekend. They were busy and service was great. Got seated inside with ample space between us and other diners, respectful distance by waitstaff, too, plus the view is spectacular and the food was fast and fresh. Put it on your list!

Great dinner on a Sunday night in May. Sat outside for the amazing view (including a gorgeous sunset). Everything was so tasty. My lobster bisque was made to order and had huge chunks of fresh lobster. My husband had the tasty gazpacho special. This was followed by perfectly prepared fish and chips and shrimp skewers with a chipotle aioli that was to die for. Even though we were full we ordered the fresh berry pie a la mode (homemade vanilla ice cream). Was the best dessert I’ve had in a long time. Thank you Rachel for being the best server, so sweet and friendly and full of local knowledge. We’ll be back and we hope to see you then.

Today was our 4th visit to The Marina - food was delicious and our table overlooked the river which is always nice. Whole belly fried clams were great, lightly battered and crispy without overdoing so the clams were tender and flavorful - nice fries and yummy coleslaw. Special burger of the day was a Waygu burger with pork belly and other yummy adders - the waitress appreciated my husband’s joking comment “does it come with directions for how to eat it”. Nice big burger with house made potato chips. Our plates were spotless when they went back to the kitchen! Will be back again and again!

Arrived as walk in on a very busy Thursday night. Parking lot was overflowing and hostess indicated we had a 30 minute wait. Went to bar for a drink when a wonderful waitress motioned us to follow her and she seated us immediately at a window table overlooking the river with great views of the setting sun. Server was very helpful, personable and attentive. Salads were huge, fresh, crisp and tasty. The berry beet salad had lots of red beets, strawberries, blueberries with a delicious mint dressing. The extremely large order of mussels were tender and very tasty in a white wine broth accompanied by delicious moist, crusty bread great for dipping. The bottle of Sauvignon Blanc was perfect finish to a delicious meal.

What a hidden treasure, just of the interstate, so quiet and what an ambience over charming river surrounded by forest. Outdoor covered dining with great views and gentle breezes. The staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent draft beer selection and abundant delicious choices for all. The smoked trout with horseradish dip was outstanding. Grilled tuna served almost rare as requested and super generous and delicious. Highly recommend!!

Sit on one of the patio areas offering a view of the river. Service was adequate. Food good and portions generous. Fried shrimp basket was served hot; burger served as requested - medium rare. Prices reasonable. The Marina is where we return every time in Brattleboro.

The Marina was buzzing on the last Saturday night in August. When we arrived we were advised that it would be 35-40 minutes until an outdoor table became available, so we sat beneath some external tenting and enjoyed some beers that I bought from the take-away bar inside. After 35 minutes we were seated outdoors with a perfect view of the river, and enjoyed how it transformed under the setting sun. The outdoor seating is very comfortable, sufficiently separated from neighbors, and completely covered. As for the food, the salmon with mashed potatoes was perfectly cooked and showed subtle grill marks. The ciopollino, which sounded like it would be similar to a zuppa a pesce or a bouillabaisse (large bowls of broth with piles of diverse seafood in them) disappointed in terms of its relatively small size, but was tasty , with small bits of seafood and some mussels in a tomato-based sauce. The server did not hesitate to remove the dish when I complained , and quickly replaced it with an item off the special menu, a huge summer salad of greens, goat cheese, carrots, walnuts, blueberries and strawberries. Outstanding! The one disappointing dish did not put that much of a damper on a tasty meal in absolutely gorgeous surroundings served by a capable staff.

Arrived at the restaurant and was immediately seated by the window for a gorgeous view of the water. The staff were very pleasant and the food arrived quickly. I had butternut squash ravioli with a cream and maple syrup sauce and topped with a balsamic drizzle on top. My husband had crab meat ravioli with a light sauce with tomatoes and lots of parmesan cheese on top. For dessert we shared a piece of cheesecake with cream and raspberry drizzle on top. The food was delicious and we will definitely return on our next trip to Vermont.

This is a wonderful restaurant, our first time back in more than a year and a half and we shall return. I had the smoked trout appetizer, always delicious, and a new item shrimp and crab sliders, very good but not excellentIf they could have been tastier. The P.E.I. were very good but again, not excellent. Since we have only eaten here once in many months I can't give a more comprehensive review and I can't, in fairness, refer to previous reviews, too much time has passed. To sum up the food from this meal, again, smoked trout excellent, sliders not bad at all but if they had been a bit tastier I would have given the joint an excellent review overall. The service was prompt, professional, attentive and cheerful. The views of the river and the ambiance are really soothing on a Summer day. Again, however, the restaurant tends to get packed, early and even on weekdays, so if you want to be assured of rapid seating you absolutely must make reservations.

This was such an enjoyable experience , I read about restaurants in the area and just happened to drive by, remember that I read about it and turned around and went back. It was Satisfying at 1:00 pm. The outside was completely full and they have tons of outside seats. We ate inside.it was cool with all of the window open and overhead fans going. Seating was Covid spacing, and again, relatively busy. Service was great, food was great, We ordered Steak kabobs and a berry beet salad. (Just a lunch) the best part was watching all of the water activities. Sculling, kayaks, canoes, etc. great spot!

We had a lovely lunch in a delightful setting. He had a burger with Vermont cheddar and bacon. The burger was cooked to perfection and so were the side of onion rings - crisp and not greasy. They came with a side of honey mustard for dipping which was also excellent. She had spinach and mushroom quiche which was also excellent - not too heavy and with a delicious flaky crust. The quiche came with a salad which was also very good, nice and fresh. Portions were generous. This was our first visit to Brattleboro and to the Marina - we will definitely be back!

The Marina is a very popular place, so its likely you'll be waiting to get seated. It was worth the wait! Started off with nice drinks to ward off the summer heat and then for dinner, I had the Fish and Chips, which was excellent!. She loved the Watermelon Salad and we enjoyed the view looking over the river activities. This is a great place and our server, Liz, did an excellent job. We will surely be back!
