Local Pub

Kiplings is a comfortable laid-back Irish pub in the heart of Brattleboro. It is cozy and friendly with a casual tasty menu. We enjoyed relaxing among the locals and felt welcomed. The Patty Melt was delicious! Cash only.

Since it was our first time in Brattleboro we had no idea where to go for lunch. We just happen to come upon Kipling's and hit the jackpot. Thier home made chili was excellent, just a bit of a kick to it but not overly spicey. My partner had the Reuben sandwich with a generous portion of pastrami and sourkraut.

We found Kiplings almost by chance when we were looking for somewhere to have a drink ahead of our 4pm check in and were so glad we did. It's a really friendly welcoming place and the hosts - Jill and Kip - went out of their way to look after us. The locals were really friendly too and the bar... More

Just a regular old bar - good to grab a beer at. Be aware it is CASH ONLY. Thankfully I had just enough in my wallet!

Kips, as the locals call it, is a step above the typical bar fare. They do offer better the average food when it comes to a bar type of place. They have a real kitchen so that certainly helps. They are a cash only so that lowers their marks in my review .

I don't drink, but I frequent Kiplings. The burgers are the best in town, bar none. The chili Cheese burger is the best of the bunch. Im pretty picky about rueben sandwiches, having lived in NYC for 25 yrs, but Kip's holds up their end of the bargain. On top of all this the fries are phenomenal! One thing to... More

I could say many wonderful things about Kipling's, or I could say nothing at all and just keep my joyful praise to myself. Much of my attachment to this place revolves around its sentimental place in my heart, but so much more is based on legitimate merits. The tap beer selection is reliably good, and the mixed drinks are reliably... More

Very personable owner. Great chille, and my husband said the Reuben was the best he'd ever eaten. Only "dislike" is the benches are on the short side with not much room between them and the table.

Great friendly staff however the food was terrible. Chicken wings looked like they went through the meat grinder - pieces of bone chips. Fish and chips were awful. Thin, overcooked in old oil. French fries soggy. Beers were small. CASH ONLY, so obviously owners are avoiding taxes or too cheap to pay 2% credit card fee. I would never go... More
