I stopped at this restaurant by accident one evening, hoping for a quick meal, but not expecting much. You are in the middle of Vermont, after all. To my surprise, the hostess was warm and welcoming, the menu looked nice and upscale but with reasonable prices and the service was good. Most importantly, the food is very good, with a... More

My boyfriend and I went there a little while ago and had an incredible meal. I had the Brisket and Root Vegetable Risotto, and it was honestly one of the most delicious meals I've had in a while. My boyfriend had the rib eye and said it was cooked perfectly. I also had a raspberry margarita that was to die... More

This place has special menus on Thursdays with a variety of cuisines. Great steak and well thought out dishes - sometimes not consistent in dishes -

Three different meals for my wife, myself and my mother. All excellent. My wife had steak tips that were prepared perfectly, tender and delicious. My mom had broiled scallops that were delicious and I had one of my favorites, maple dijon scallops. All meals were prepared to perfection, (I sampled the other two) and were delicious. Kudos to the staff... More

Enjoyed our meal at The New England House! The company of my high school class of 1954 made it especially enjoyable. Our waitress was amazing keeping everyone happy!

Just moved down to Brattleboro two months ago and we have been at the New England House for many dinners now. Chef Kurt is European trained and although his menu is simple (to keep the local following happy), he also features New Enland classics like crab cakes (the best in town), raw oysters on the half shelf, pan seared salmon... We stopped here by accident a couple years ago and were so pleased that we made sure to stop here again on this trip. It's a charming building and the staff are very pleasant. Prices won't break the bank but they have a great variety for a special dinner or just a quick bite to eat. We all had something... More

While passing through the area exploring the back roads of Vermont, I happened upon this restaurant nestled in a small town. I promptly turned around to check it out. I was greeted promptly by the hostess and seated right away on this Thursday evening. My server was quick to bring a glass of water and ask if I had any... More

My wife and I happened on the New England House one Saturday night from a recommendation regarding an infusion of European dishes into the menu, we were not disappointed. Although the menu lives up to its New England moniker in regards to many of the offerings it was the Tarte Flambée and Pork Schitzel that convinced me that particular night... More
