Top notch tarts, croissants, cookies, breads, and soups! Don’t miss out on this fantastic eatery for breakfast or lunch. I love getting the fruit tarts, almond croissants, and cookies while my friends love the savory croissants like ham and cheese. One of the best spots...around for delicious food.More

We stopped here the other day and what a great move on our part. You'll find a wide variety of baked goods---breads, sweets, and the the like. I asked for a hot chocolate and my gosh, it was a REAL hot chocolate; not something from...a machine but an amazing drink! My wife found sausage biscuits, which were excellent; I also got a small pumpkin pie and she got an apple turnover--both were simply delicious. Seriously, if you are looking for a nice, homemade style treat, then here you go. Note---Bakkeriji is open only Thursday-Sunday, be sure to stop by, you won;t regret the visit. .More

I loved this place and its delicious baked goods. It's a family affair, with the baker's wife at counter and the baker's daughter in the kitchen with her dad. Don't pass up the raspberry turnovers - they are filled with real raspberries- not raspberry jam....The result is a sweet, tart, fresh tasting treat wrapped in delicate pastry. Yum.More

This bakery is a hidden gem. Excellent bread (although $7 per loaf - but well worth it). Large pastry selection--hard to choose. Salesperson was EXTREMELY pleasant. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the baked items offered are worth the stop! Warm and welcoming...business!More

The bakery items were great, as was the customer service. Coffee was good but not spectacular (I expect a lot from a cup of coffee)

We drove by this place after eating lunch and hung a u-turn and went back to check it out. So glad we did. We just wanted something simple and elected for a piece of carrot cake with orangecream icing. We also scored a couple of..."Peaceout" stickers for our cars which felt so right buying here. The cake was consumed with joy and I'm happy to report that it rocked our tastebuds like the 4th of July. There was so much to choose from but we were traveling through so we wanted to keep it light. Don't make the mistake of passing this place by!More

My mother and I looked online for Bennington Bakery shops and this one popped up. We decided to give it a try and we are so happy we did. We both had a cup of coffee which was delicious. I ordered a mini chocolate tort...pie thing and my mother ordered an apple fritter. She loved hers and I loved mine! Even though it my tort was small it had so much flavor and fullness to it. I had to take half home! We can’t wait to go back and try more delicious goodies!! Please try this bakery out if you’re in Bennington. The quality of food is amazing and the prices are affordable. Love this cozy little place!!More

I ordered several pastries to serve at my wedding and am still dreaming about how delicious everything was. Most of my guests had never tried stroopwafels or gevulde koeken before, but now they're all hooked! I took one bite of a cream puff and it...took my breath away with how light yet rich it tasted. I can't wait to come back and stock up on more!More

I visited this restaurant with family in late winter 2017. The pastries were very good, and also the owner was really nice. Overall very good experience.

I've never been to a Dutch bakery. But, read good reviews about Bakkerij Krijnen. This place does not disappoint. We sampled several cookies and their famous Stroopwafels. The owner was super pleasant and fun to talk to. To be honest, I'm glad we visited, but...I'm also glad it's a 2 1/2 hour ride from my house. There's a good chance I'd be heading there way too often! The Chocolate Crackle cookies are PERFECT. Not too sweet. Just the right crisp. I will return next time I'm visiting the area.More
