First time we had been to the Black Bear Diner in Sandy. What a fun place to go. The diner is a great place to go for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We were celebrating my birthday and so glad that we tried this diner. The waitress was so cute and so helpful and patient with all of us (9). The... More

If you are looking for lots of food this is the place to go. But the food is very average and the pancakes are very heavy. You eat one of those and you won't need to eat for at least the rest of the day.

They are super busy for weekend breakfasts, huge portions but expect to wait, there is nothing elegant about the preparation and presentations but there is a lot of really good food, try the biscuits and gravy.

We were on a 2 week trip and we were having one heck of a time finding good food and service, seemed like it was one thing after another. We seen the sign for Black Bear Diner and always eat at them in California and was actually surprised to see them here, we didnt know they had ventured so far... More

Good old fashioned home cooking. Just like Mom used to do. Large portions. Fresh backed cobbler is to die for.

Visited for lunch and were seated quickly and had our drink order taken. Our sandwiches were good (Sourdough Melt and Blazin' Bear with Seasoned Tri-tip); the fries fresh, crispy and hot. The restaurant has a quaint and rustic atmosphere with bear decorations (it is the Black Bear after all). It feels like a diner. Service was attentive and our food... More

I enjoy everything about the Black Bear Diner. The food is good, with large portions at a fair price, and good quality. The service is friendly and efficient. Even when it's busy there's usually not a wait. Even though it's a chain, it doesn't feel like one.

As northern Californians, we've visited the original Black Bear, know a but of its history and origins, and live to stop in wherever. The Sandy store is as nice a place as any.

Our waitress was the cutest and nicest I have had in a long time. Husband and I shared an omelet with everything in it and then brought some home. It was really good. Way too many options on the menu but that is good when you bring your family since there will be something for everyone. Decorated really cute inside.

Nice to be in a good Black Bear. Of course, the dining fare is the same, but the service was really good compared to the one in Orem. Sandy is fortunate to have a good one to go to.
