About
Established in 1991. The Cowboy's Smokehouse Cafe was started in 1991. The restaurant started with BBQ being served "fast casual" style,on butcher paper and with plastic utensils. In a few short years it developed into the full service restaurant that it is today. The Cowboy's Smokehouse has always been a family-owned, family-run business that boasts mesquite smoked meats, homemade cobbler and rolls, and a fun western atmosphere. We are excited to announce our move to 80 N Main. We will be able to share with you our larger climate controlled dining room and be better able to serve quality food with our new larger, updated kitchen!

Amazing meats of all sorts! Worth the drive from Bryce Canyon! We were visiting Bryce Canyon and wanted a hearty dinner after some intense hiking today. The restaurants around Bryce had so-so reviews, so we expanded our search to surrounding towns, which is how we found this gem! When we parked and got out of our van, we saw the gentleman smoking the meat, so we knew this was going to be a great choice! It did not disappoint! I enjoyed the pulled pork salad—-delicious! My sons enjoyed the burger, and another son had the pigtails as his meal. Pigtails—highly recommend those! They were extra thick curly fries topped with pulled pork, slaw and BBQ sauce. My husband got the 3 Meat sampler and enjoyed ribs, turkey breast and smoked sausage. We also ended up with brisket because of a mix up with our order. He said the turkey breast was his favorite as well as the ribs. We also enjoyed chips and salsa as an appetizer, and the chips were freshly made and brought HOT to our table! Service was fabulous, too! Also, if you pay with cash, they give you a 4% discount. It was fun to talk with one of our servers who had lived for a couple of years in TN where we are from! He mentioned that he made the the BBQ sauce. It was 18 miles from our hotel in Bryce, and it was worth it! We drive back after sunset and caught breathtaking views of the moon and stars! Our favorite meal on vacation so far!

My girlfriend and I stayed in Panguitch, Utah last weekend to celebrate her birthday and to see Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks. We had dinner our first night at Cowboy’s Smokehouse. Our server was Jace, a friendly young man who did not steer us (no pun intended) in the wrong direction in regard to the meats on the menu. I wanted a steak and my girl wanted BBQ…she got the tri-tip and I got the sirloin. Everything was seasoned amazingly and cooked perfectly, and for the sizes of the portions, everything was incredibly reasonably priced. They also had a decent beer selection. Jace said we had to try their specialty cobbler for dessert, and he wasn’t wrong…we had the raspberry cream cobbler, and it was just delicious. We sat right next to the small stage where live music is sometimes performed, but sadly not on the night we were there. And we were going to head back for a second meal there while we were in Panguitch because it was so damn good, but unfortunately Cowboy’s is closed on Sundays. Bummer. If you are hungry and in Panguitch and it’s not a Sunday, do yourself a favor and go get a steak and cobbler at Cowboy’s Smokehouse…you won’t regret it!

We stopped in and ordered some food to go. I guess we should feel fortunate that they were able to help us because people behind us in line they were literally turning people away said that they cannot feed them too busy. I feel that a successful business would be able to staff for friday/sat nights and be ready to generate revenue. The wait staff was super nice though. In fact 'sweet' is the word that my wife chose. They could really use some 'rush hour' help to increase revenue. The food was average and nothing really stuck out as 'over the top'. We got appetizers, bbq and desert. The grilled chicken meat was smokey in taste, but was just wings and thighs. A bone in chicken breast would have been something to talk about. The stuffed potato skins were kind of plain. We tried two cobblers. They were kind of dull and boring but may hit the spot for some people. Just not us. All in all, we spent well over $100 for food for 4, but we were ultimately disappointed fortunately dominos delivers when we got back to cedar.

Picked this place based on reviews, hungry while traveling to National park. Were seated, waited about 20 minutes (was mid afternoon very few customers) all waitstaff looked at us, table next to us got waited on, but waitress would not look at us. Finally stopped someone asking them to take drink orders, he agreed but stated not his table. Waitress finally came over said no one told us we were there (even though she waited on table next to us). Food took forever, waitress said several times, almost done. 3 other parties already eating their dinners. She finally said they had several big take out orders that took priority over us, but not the other 3 parties after us. Took well over an hour start to finish. We had trout and steak, reason for 3 stars was because trout was excellent- steak nothing extraordinary. Also concerning only one waitstaff was masked, no tables marked off, more than half customers arrived no masks. Being out of towners was concerned by complete lack of concern of management for current conditions. Even though this is a small town caution should be observed in current times.

A sad unwelcome at the height of the pandemic. We had read on their website that they were doing takeout but when we arrived, hungry and tired, the restaurant had many unmasked people inside and the waiter told us they were too busy for takeout. She then happily sat the couple behind us. Cowboy’s Clueless Snoothouse Covid Breeding Ground 😝. We were glad to go elsewhere, good luck to their staff and customers.

Great atmosphere, you could smell the smoked meats when you walked in, the menu has some delicious choices, nice options for dessert too and even vegetarian options. Portions were ample and prices ranged from $12 to $30 for dinner. Jalapeno bites were delish, homemade rolls yummy, smoked meats were delish. Green chili pork burrito was tasty but not spicy.

We got seated around 5:30 on a Saturday night and our order placed rather quickly, but then proceeded to wait an hour for basic barbecue restaurant food. It was good - smoked turkey with potato and corn, beef brisket with fries and slaw - but would have been nice to have different sauce choices. Staff was friendly and kept telling us our food was coming, and it would be worth the wait. Saw a lot of people putting their name on wait list, telling us it was popular. Can't help but believe they were understaffed and doing a lot of carry out business with the local clientele. Drove back through town after 8 pm and still people waiting outside. Good for them!

Your tastebuds start tingling halfway down the block to the Cowboy Smokehouse Cafe. By the time you get to the door, you're already hungry for the whole nine yards, or maybe here you'd say, the whole corral. I had the platter with three samples and chose the brisket, turkey and sausage. They were out of pulled pork at 8:00 on a Friday night. The place was packed, and so although disappointed, there's no penalty point subtracted. My companion enjoyed the salmon. We both greatly enjoyed the cole slaw with it's slight kick. I had the pinto beans, but they were just a little too spicy for my tastebuds. I didn't exchange them, however, because portion size is so large, I would never have been able to finish them. We skipped dessert, but came back to the Cowboy Ice Cream next door after walking around historic Panguitch. You've got to eat there if you're staying in Panguitch.

We had high hopes for this place but were bitterly disappointed. We were unlucky enough to get the male server who is either brain dead or way over his head, We got there early and it wasn't crowded. After a 5 min. wait he finally took our drink order. 20 min. later still no drinks. I finally had to verbally yell to get his attention. "Oh yeah I forgot" was the response. Once the drinks came we gave him our food order. I had the pulled pork while the wife had a steak. 30 min. later still no food. Again I yelled to get his attention. His excuse was that the wind kept blowing out the flame on the steak ! Huh ? Others seated way after us were already eating. Apparently they were using a different flame or stove. Another 10 min. and the food finally came. The wife's steak was good but by this time the pulled pork was cold. What a disaster. The 2 female servers seemed much more on the ball and were hustling all nite. He authorized a 10% discount for our trouble. BTW: People were seated on top of each other. No empty tables so no 6' distancing thus violating Utah law. One last thing, Beware : the bill is on his device so he's right there staring at you when you leave the electronic tip. It starts at 25% , 20% and 18% . You have to change the page to get a lower amount. I should have hit the NO TIP option.

Jim loved the pulled pork sandwich and I thought the Trout fillet was delicious, but the crowing touch was when the waitress asked if we would like a patty for our traveling companion, Skeeter the wonder Mutt, and for $2.50 we got Skeeter's enthusiastic endorsement, too. Also, although we are both vaccinated...happy that Covid protocols were followed.

We tried Cowboy’s Smokehouse on a recommendation from our hotel. We loved it! I had the combination platter with chicken, beef and pulled pork. My husband had the turkey. I was not able to eat my entire meal (and being a small person I can eat a lot). I liked their barbecue sauce but my husband liked his food without it. Our server was so very friendly (as everyone is in Utah) and recommended we drive to Cedar Breaks. We wanted to return for breakfast but unfortunately they weren’t open for breakfast on weekdays.

We decided to try the cafe, and found it very busy. We were fortunate to get a table before they started taking names. The food was superb. We all had different items, and they were very helpful accommodating to my husband who cannot have potatoes. A definite place for dinner the next time we are in town.

As we drove through town we noticed there were not many restaurants offering sit down service . We decided to go to this place and we were very glad we did. The staff was very friendly, the service was quick. The food was amazing. We enjoyed everything about our visit to this little cowboy Café. If you’re in the area you should check it out you will enjoy the food and the atmosphere.

We had a very nice dinner at the Cowboys Smokehouse Cafe. I had the rotisserie chicken that was nicely smoked with unique flavor and was very juicy. Vegetables were fresh. The service was very fast and friendly. Although there was nothing fancy or special about the restaurant, the food was good and service was very nice. Prices were also very reasonable for the quality of food delivered. This was the cheapest meal of our trip. Overall, I highly recommend Cowboys Smokehouse Cafe for anyone looking for a nice quick meal.

We visited The Cowboy’s Smokehouse late in the afternoon on a week day. The front door was open and you could smell barbecue walking down the street! My husband and I ordered off the lunch menu both having a pulled pork sandwich. It was exactly what we were hoping for after traveling all day. The meal was fabulous, fresh and hot, the fries were seasoned and the coleslaw was good, cold and fresh. Our waitress was very nice and very personable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
