Ignore that guys review about it being terrible. He has NO idea what he’s talking about. He’s apparently never had real Japanese ramen. I’ve been to japan and have had real ramen and this stuff is pretty close to the real McCoy! The presentation is...not sloppy like he says. That’s how it looked in japan too. The noddles are slightly firm like they should be. I’ve never had “soggy veggies” like he claimed to have. And this ramen DOES NOT taste like those 10 cent trash packs. Asa ramen broth is so creamy and yummy. He also mentions the food being bland....Japanese food is not American food. Most Japanese food doesn’t pack a punch with flavor but I think the subtle flavors is what gives Japanese food a charm if you will. If I’m ever missing japan and ramen I come here! It’s a good price for a filling bowl of comforting ramen!More

Really delicious ramen and fried chicken. Loved it! I’ll definitely go back the next time I’m in Provo/Orem!

Went with a work associate. My first time, he goes often. Pretty small inside and not much in the way it’s decorated; but you go there for the food not the ambiance. Had the shrimp tempura (best I’ve ever had?) and something I can’t say...but it started with a T. Hot, spicy (but I added a little chili paste for some extra heat), and looked beautiful in the presentation. My whole meal was $15 and worth every penny! If you don’t go, you’re missing out!!More

I'd never had Ramen before, my girlfriend mentioned a great place she went to in Salt Lake, so I looked for Ramen places in Orem. There were some good reviews for Asa Ramen, so we figured why not. So glad we did. As others have...mentioned it's a very small place, but even with several couples ahead of us it only took about 15 minutes of wait time. There's a great yelp app you add yourself to as you enter. I presume you can add yourself via your own version. The menu is very simple, some appetizers and the Chashu bun is a must have, it's a pork belly, surrounded by the softest bun you've ever had with a delicious sauce. Sooo good!! We each had a different Ramen, I had the pork and she had the miso, I highly recommend the pork, it has so much flavor, add some of the spices that are on the table it will enhance it even more so. The next time I go, I'll add the additional noodles, they were really good and there was PLENTY of broth. Prices were really good as well, $10 for a bowl and $7 for the buns, for $30 including tip we both got FULL!More

After eating here, no other ramen place satisfies me. I crave their chashu buns every day. Every other chashu buns from different restaurants are a disappointment compared to Asa. I'm literally dying for them to open more locations. Yesterday, I wanted the chashu buns so...bad, in fact, my mom and I drove 30 miles from our house to go here and get their buns and tonkatsu soup. Their is so full of flavor and is to die for! We were talking about this place to our family member and she said she knew the owner (who are actually Mongolian) shout out to the rude reviewers who were wrongfully "disappointed" and apparently have the undeveoped pallet of a picky child. They are insane, because we entered the restraunt the minute it opened and within 5-10 minutes, there was a line out the door. You NEED to go here! 😍More

This is one of my favorite places to eat ramen. I was first recommended this place when I asked for recommendations and 6 separate people told me to come here. I have not been disappointed. The place feels like an honest, hole in the wall,...restaurant which I love. I recommend it. Try the Chashu buns too, they're to die for.More

We visit the Provo/Orem area frequently to meet up with family. The restaurant that everyone chooses first is Asa Ramen. Now, a warning, no...a head's up. Their place is small, you will most likely have a wait and if you have more than 4 people...you will have to wait longer. BUT, I stress this, it is worth the wait. Order one of their sodas or something, bring a book, play a game with your family, because your patience will be rewarded. We have tried pretty much everything on the menu. If this is your first time and you are here to "try new things" try the Chashu buns. The meat is tremendous. Follow that with any of the Ramen. We generally get the full size because if you have some self control, you will have leftovers to eat in the hotel later. We prefer the pork broth, but the miso and chicken are good, too. The Chashu bowl has extra meat that you can share with your table mates if they get jealous when theirs runs out. Expect $15 per person if you split orders of buns.More

Asa serves amazing ramen! The portions are large and the taste is fresh and flavorful. This is the most authentic ramen I've tasted in Utah. Prices are reasonable, too. Definitely go. The only downside: the restaurant is very small and there seems to always be...a line for lunch or dinner. It seems to be a favorite with local students, too, so you can expect some noise. While this isn't a place to sit and relax, the food makes it worth the trip. Add it to your Utah Valley bucket list.More

When people say hole in the wall, they aren't kidding. It is a VERY small resaurant with a handful of seats at the bar, and then a handful of tables. We orderd a bowl of ramen and an order of steam buns ~ both were...really good! The service was quick and friendly. We will be back!More
