Chips are from Walmart, salsa is Pace Picante from the jug, taco shells are out of the box also. The beans were crusty, the rice was crunchy. Service was slow and there were 3 birthdays where the staff encouraged everyone to sing to these people over and over and over. On a side note, hostess didn't wash her hands once... More

Service was pretty good considering they were pretty busy. I ordered tacos and a tamale. The shells for the tacos were of the Ortega taco shell variety. I expected better. The tacos at Rancherito's are much better and the shells are deep fried. The tamale was ok but the flour (not corn) was dry. Meat portions were pretty good and... More

Highly recommend. Excellent food..prices are reasonable. Never had a bad experience here. Family friendly. This place is usually busy so don't go when in a hurry.

Order #11. 1 cheese enchilada, 1 chili rellano, rice and beans. also a house margarita blended with salt. One of 4 orders placed from our table. When we arrived 2 other couples came in at the same time as we did. We received chips and warm salsa with shredded cheese in a separate bowl right away. We placed our cocktail... More

We lived near here a few decades ago and wound up back in town. We decided to go to our old favorite El Matador! I've not had cheese in my salsa any place else! I was sad their blueberry sopapillas are no more...but the honey sopapilla dots were really delicious! We tried a number of meals--mamacita, La Famosa, Durango etc.... More

Salsa recipe seems to have changed, and we couldn't get white queso. Portions are quite large, should really consider lunch sized ones for the middle of the day.

Long day sight seeing wanted to try local mexican fare. Very hot in the building loud and dark. We went at 7:00 on a monday night. Had to wait 15minutes with a reservation. Orders were mixed up and given to the wrong people at the table. Food was ok. Not the best but not the worst we have had.

As always the food was delicious. The waitress assigned to our table was not available, so another waitress took care of us. She was very busy, with her own customers, but took the time to take care of us. We enjoy visiting this restaurant knowing that we will receive good service and good food Les Talbot

We come here for sentimental reasons when we visit Utah because our mom worked here as a teenager. The chips need to be overhauled - something thinner, larger, and warmed up. Also, consider adding queso dip. Just cheese in the salsa isn't for everyone. The portions were quite generous, and we enjoyed the main course very much. The steak chimichanga... More

I felt like this was over-priced. We had a large group of 13 and they only gave us one server. We were too crowded. I think it's weird that they serve huge shrimp with the meals. The little sweet scones were delicious as was the salsa.
