I have been to this establishment 4 times and just very disappointed every time. The food is not good the service is worse. I don't mind paying good money for a steak, but the steak here was under cooked sent back over cooked sent back for a new one and still not right left hungry. Second shot tried chicken fried... After reading the reviews, I was really excited about this restaurant. I thought the kids would enjoy it as well, and I was looking forward to a good steak. We went mid-week and the restaurant was practically empty. There was a sign saying "under new managment." Seeing the Western setting with the animals and campfires was cool but there was... More

We went here as a family group wanting something for adults and kids that is casual but nice. Prairie Schooner fit the bill perfectly. You can get a hamburger, ribs, chicken fried steak or surf & turf. And we did. Our group of 8 sat in a covered wagon and really enjoyed our food and the ability to sit and... More

Like the other reviews, the Western Theme just hits the nail on the head. Sitting in mini-covered wagons with lanterns and other Western memorabilia is just the right touch for the Prairie Schooner! And the review about the Fried Button Mushrooms is spot on! Get em and enjoy a wonderful delicacy found at only a handful of similar establishments. The... More

The atmosphere can't be compared to any other dining experience I've ever had. You get your own little covered wagon to sit in and dine with adjustable lanterns. There's animal figures and stars on the ceiling. You'll forget you're inside! The food is amazing. My favorite is the fried mushroom appetizer!

This place is not your average steak house. You sit in booths that resemble covered wagons and look out on vignettes of wild animals. The bread was very good and the mushroom appetizer was delicious. My steak was not so great a bit grizzly and overpriced for what it was (a small rib eye) but all in all we enjoyed... More

We've known about the Prairie Schooner for years but only now decided to try it for dinner. We found the food very good and the service (Carla) excellent. The Western decor is a fun and welcome departure from the chain restaurants that don't vary in least no matter the location. We enjoyed the prairie schooner tables and the taxidermy tableau.... The service was very good and the atmosphere was comfortable and fun. Very unique. You dine in rustic covered wagons with lights that have a dimmer switch for you to adjust as you like. First we received fresh warm whole wheat bread with butter and honey. The salad was very fresh and had an assortment of vegies in it. We... More

I have not been to the Prairie Schooner in 20 years but our family was passing through and we wanted to show our kids one of the places that was special to us when we first got married. It is just as magical. Sitting in the covered wagons (Prairie Schooner) around a glowing campfire with the howling coyotes and the... More
