Service was great and I had Prime Rib and shrimp both were fabulous. Everyone in my group loved their meal.
The food was awful. I heard that this place was the bomb for steaks. My mother had also heard that and wanted her bday there this year. We invited family and friends and was seated in the banquet room. We were served a small salad...with a little lettuce on a plate. I mean a salad can have a few more things to add to it that aren't expensive but makes a nice salad. Our french bread slices were sitting out and dry, We all ordered appetizers and waited on our drinks. We got the appetizers before any drinks. They were decent but overpriced. Our meals came and it was awful. I ordered a steak, my mom ordered steak. Both were overdone and hard to even cut to eat. Unfortunately I didn't want to bitch about our food when it is my mom's 90th Birthday party. We will never go back there. I paid $75 for a dinner that McDonalds could master. If this is the service your offering, you won't be in business for much longer.More
Had dinner there July 21, 2021. After many years of going there for special occasions and enjoying very good food, this visit was awful. My husband's prime rib was good. However, we were given cold white bread wrapped in a napkin as if it had...been warmed, which it had not. The salad vegetables were stale. I ordered sauteed shrimp which was undercooked, flabby, floating in grease, tasted off, and was literally inedible. They have fried mushrooms as an appetizer and I asked if they could be sauteed instead. Was served a bowl of diced mushrooms, as if they were to be poured on a steak, also floating in grease.More
We were traveling to Moab, Utah and spent a night in Ogden. Websites sang the praises of this place. When we pulled up and saw all the cars, we were elated as the sign of a good dining place is a full car lot, right?...We had a beer and a glass of wine in the bar while we waited for a table. The interior is dark, really dark, and has a funky decor. My husband ordered a ribeye, medium rare, and I ordered a bacon-wrapped filet mignon, medium rare. When we placed our order, I asked for a glass of red wine (don't remember what), and our under-aged waitress informed us she would get the 'cocktail' waitress to come and take my order. 10 minutes passed, no waitress. In the meantime, my steak arrived, but I did not cut into it as I waited to place my wine order so that I could enjoy wine with my steak. I finally went to the bar, but they were behind in their orders. I returned to my table. I waited. I told my husband to go ahead and eat as I did not want his meal to be ruined while I waited. Our waitress made another attempt to find a waitress and about 10 minutes later, she returned and took my order. Once my wine arrived, I discovered that I had been served a raw steak. It had been barely warmed over the heat source. Our waitress came back to check on us later, but by that time, my husband had finished his meal. I declined a re-warm. Long story short, after talking to the manager, our waitress removed the charge for my steak. Bread is store- bought, cold bread. Butter and something else arrived with the bread but we were not certain what it was. Baked potatoes come with butter. We think the extra something that came with the bread may have been sour cream and chives? We do not know. My husband's ribeye looked disgusting to me. I would say that 1/3 of it was pure fat, which he cut away. His was a thin steak, about 1/2' thick and mine was almost 1" thick. When we got to our hotel, I ate potato chips and pistachios for dinner. DO NOT EAT HERE. The only caveat here is that the manager is the nicest, friendliest, warmest, human being on the planet! This place is a tourist trap and/or a place for folks who don't know what good steakhouses are. Oh-before I forget, 9oz glasses of wine are $13 to $15 for $10 to $14/bottles of wine. Corkage is $10. Bring your own wine if you insist on dining here!!!!!More
The food is fantastic and the atmosphere amazing. I can't believe someone would complain about the food. We eat here 5 or 6 times a year and it's great!
We were there for a banquet, so the menu was all read decided between prime rib and seafood.....since I had heard their prime rib was excellent, that was my choice, and I was not disappointed. While I cannot say it was the best that I...ever had, it clearly would rank in the top 25. While the number of beer taps is limited, they did have some excellent choices.More
I can’t imagine a worse place to go to dinner then at the Timbermine. The food is so expensive and so gross. The decor is unsettling and scary. I feel like an evil spirit followed me home from the restaurant. I’m pretty sure I have...food poisoning I want my $200 backMore
The food has no flavor, the service is no good. Best to go to McDonalds in stead. One time you go in and they tell you on thing and the next time they tell you another, then another. Waitress also stood over my shoulder to...see the tip I provided and then complained out the tip not being 20% of the check.More
The service was ridiculously fast - if that’s what you want...(like a fast food restaurant) and server seemed efficient (until after we received our food). ALL of the food came up so fast, some overly hot and some lukewarm, we felt a bit stunned and...rushed. We were not even done with salad before appetizers AND main showed up. The rate things were going, we were surprised the check was not delivered with the meal. Perhaps this would be more understandable on a weekend, however, we were there on a weeknight. The steak was fine, the scampi seemed essentially like steamed shrimp with a ladle of butter which continued to congeal as we were trying to eat. The cocktail sauce was the best part of the meal. The ambiance and vintage pieces throughout the lobby/restaurant are entertaining. The food (for the price point) mostly met my expectations. Entertaining place to go overall.More
I’ve been to Timber Mine numerous times over a 40 year period. I’ve eaten at many restaurants, in state and out of state. I have cooked in several restaurants and normally cook my own meals. Took my son and his wife prior to Thanksgiving 2020....Service was good, main entree was average, over priced and for the price we were served bagged lettuce that we could purchase from any local grocery store. The poor salad tells you everything you need to know about this place. Top cost per meal and they try to save a buck on a crappy salad...pathetic management.More
If you like to explore unique places to eat, you'll love this place! Lots of great decor! The food was terrific and the staff was very friendly. I'll come back again when I'm passing through!
It’s been awhile since we dined here and quite frankly we were a little disappointed in the quality and lack of choices on the menu. Service was good but the quality for the price was off. We aren’t ready to throw in the towel because...we’ve been coming here for years.More
We are from Ogden and have been to the Timbermine many many times over the years. We love going there and have always received great food and friendly service. I highly recommend TM!
Restaurant was super packed for Valentine's/presidents weekend. We waited in the bar and met some fun people, and got great service, so time flew. Once we were seated, service continued to be great, with great advice, accurate and fast service. We split the porterhouse, and...it was grilled to perfection. Also highly reccomend the fried mushrooms. Can't wait to go back!More
