Mekong Cafe is very, very small. The parking can be bad, the wait can be long and it can be hard to get one of the few tables in this tiny place, but it is oh so worth it! I've taken to placing to go orders and just carrying out on weekends because that's when it's the busiest. Having been... More

Food is great and worth the wait. If you are in a hurry better to order and pickup. Drunken noodles and Pad Thai are my favorites.

We've come here for lunch and dinner(a lot). Food is always excellent and they have a nice wine menu. The atmosphere is quaint, intimate...and at times can be a little snug(when it gets busy - which thankfully doesn't happen too much.) the prices are great - the lunch combo menu is an excellently portioned. We recommend the Massaman - lunch... More

Read some of the other reviews. Very good food but, just OK service. I had the Pad Thia chicken, level 5. I needed to spice it up to get to a good thia hot but, they gave me the thia hot dried chillies to do so, I was happy.

Tiny little restaurant with the best Thai food ever. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. You can request the level of heat you want in your food. One word of caution, don't go for mild unless you like really bland food. The Tom Yum Goong soup is my personal favorite - always fresh and piping hot, with 4 good-sized... More

Like many of the reviews state, the food is fantastic but service is lacking. We got Pad Thai, Fried Tofu, and Chicken Sesame (could've used more chicken, but the fried rice is delicious) which were all superb. The service is not bad. Please understand the difference between bad service and being understaffed. On a very busy Friday night, we arrived... More

I like their food, and it has a nice homey feel, but just realize the service will generally be slow. I have always seen just one server, who also does the cash register.

After visiting Thailand a few weeks ago, my husband and I have been searching for the best Thai in Salt Lake. We were very pleasantly surprised by Mekong Cafe. The Tom Ka Gai (soup) was absolutely delicious! I've been craving that soup for weeks and it was just as I had hoped- tangy, spicy and a little bit sweet. The... More

I came here because of the posts and was disappointed. Service was absolutely horrible and the food, average. There was one server for the whole restaurant and never checked on me, as I needed to spice up my meal. It took well over an hour to experience this disappointment.
