Shidler 6 reviews · 9 photos 16 minutes ago I teach English online to Chinese students, so I wanted to have an authentic Chinese New Year dinner. I looked around Logan and found out the owners are from Fusian, China. I went in earlier and had a lovely conversation with them. They showed me their Chinese menu and gave recommendations. I went back that evening with my husband. The only reason they're getting 4 instead of five is because they only had one college boy working and he wasn't very efficient. I wish they would have had some music playing softly in the background. The ambience was nice. I liked the decor. The food was very tasty. I especially liked the noodles, pot stickers and Happy Formosa. The Happy Formosa is had with no spice because I don't like too spicy. I wish I would have just got sweet and sour pork instead of recommended sweet and sour pork ribs because these had the bones on them, but the sauce was divine. I hadn't been to this restaurant in decades. I will be returning.

Disappointing

I believe we've been there before but I remember it being much better than it was this time. The service was awesome however the food was edible but not particularly good.

Good Chinese food for years!

Formosa has been in Logan since we moved here in 1989. It has been one of our favorite places to eat. They have great food and great service. The outside has started to show its age a little but the food has always been top notch!

Back to its former glory

Formosa has been in Cache Valley a long time. It was great! The owners we knew moved, then the restaurant changed hands multiple times, which is probably the reason for the lower reviews. (we agree, it was bad) However we are very happy to find the current owners have returned the food back to its former greatness. Everything is hot and fresh. We love the hot and sour soup and the lunch specials. Generous portions. Very affordable and our weekend go to.

What happened?

We ate here several times while going to Utah State many years ago. We expected the same level of quality and flavor but were very disappointed. Much of the food was over cooked and old. We can't recommend Formosa.

food was almost cold when it arrived when delivered

Ordered online at 7:30 pm was told about 30 minutes. Low and behold 1 hour and 35 minutes later it got here but had to go out side of the apartment complex to get the order. It was not hot just barely warm. I had to reheat it in the microwave. Not a good experience when I only live less than 5 miles away.

New owners, great again

New owners. Food is back to being fresh and delicious. Previous owners are responsible for the bad reviews. Love their lunch specials, Tom of food and lots of options for cheap. Our favorite Chinese restaurant in Cache Valley!!

Hot fresh food, great prices

Great , hot food. We love the lunch specials. This place has had a history of many owners, hence some bad reviews. I am happy to say the current owners are doing a great job. Give it a chance!

Great improvements this year, good food

Formosa has had several different owners over the past decade. It had been a solid place, but with a couple previous owners the food was sadly subpar. We recently gave it a try again. We are happy to say that the last two times we have eaten here, the food is back to being great and you can tell it has again reached the levels it had 10 years ago. Food is hot and fresh and in large portions. We are glad to have it back in our rotation.

Good food for a decent Price.

Nothing extra-ordinary here but the food is good and the service is acceptable. I prefer the consistency of their food to other similar restaurants. I love the Shrimp dishes and Tiny Spicy Chicken.

Average food - very poor service

Visited for lunch - was promptly seated then didn't have anyone come by for 15 minutes. I ordered and my lunch special was served quickly. Average food - touch on the salty side. Never once after my food was served did the server ever come come back. My drink was never refilled. Price was very reasonable but the poor service was too much.

I have liked this restaurant in the past. Logan doesn't really have an amazing Chinese food restaurant so Formosa has been my go to as far as Chinese so my husband said he wanted Chinese and off we went. Well, we ordered my usual tiny spicy chicken and the new menu has it served with low main .. My husband ordered the garlic chicken. Both were less than satisfactory. The lo main was like mushy over cooked noodles with a little this and that added. No flavor! The tiny spicy was not spicy and lacked flavor. It was the least of all the evils. The garlic chicken is red and has no flavor!! Where is the garlic? If you come here, do not order the low main, do not order the garlic chicken and if you want any cheese in your wontons, go somewhere else. The sign outside says "under new ownership." This is not a good thing for the Formosa restaurant. Just go somewhere else. So disappointing!

Eh, can take it or leave it

This used to be the premier location in Logan for Chinese food for many years. However, the owners sold out and since then the food has changed flavors. It isn't bad, but it isn't memorable either. I really liked the old Formosa.

Oriental Food with an American touch

By Logan standards, their food is very good. However, I am from Fresno, CA where we had some excellent Chinese restaurants so my view is prejudiced. Service was a little slow on special request like sauces, but they were very nice.
