Most unique and "upscale" restaurant in Garden City.

This restaurant is part on the Conestoga "Clamping" camp site. Facility is beautiful for it's open air sit down environment. Food is great. A bit higher cost then others but no long stand in line issue. I live in Garden City & like to take visitors here when open during the summer season.

Really good food for the most part!

The special for the night was green Sriracha chicken wings and they were definitely the star of the evening! My husband had the New York steak with the crispy brussel sprouts and he is still talking about good they were. He would have eaten there again the next night if I would have let him! I had the prosciutto and arugula pizza which unfortunately missed the mark. Their garlic cream sauce is almost flavorless and it was all so salty! There was cured prosciutto, parmesan cheese shavings, and then they sprinkled salt on top of all of that! If we are ever back in the area I would give them another shot based off the chicken wings!

Tasty and nutritious meal in a fried food landscape

We got to Bear Lake well aware of the Raspberry shake reputation in the town. What we werent ready for was that seemingly every well rated restaurant leaned heavily towards fried food. While I love me some french fries, inion rings and the like, we quickly yearned for really good food prepared in without a deep fryer. Campfire not only delivered, I would say the food was sophisticated and decadent. For example, I got a gorgeous pork chop, topped with their homemade BBQ sauce (excellent) and accompanied by the best street corn I have ever had. Everything my family ordered exceeded their expectation and we left feeling full, but not greasy. Service was attentive and friendly. You could tell that this was the best gig in the area and the staff took pride in their work. Others have said it, but the ambiance cant go without mention.

Things have changed, not for the better

This has been our go to place for the past 5 summers, we use to go 7-10 times a summer. Menu is different, our favorites are gone (chicken pot pie, cookie dessert, BBQ pork) food isn’t as good, portion sizes have shrunk dramatically and the prices went up. So disappointed, not sure if we dare return.

You Gotta Stop Here!

Don’t let the price scare you away, it’s totally worth it! Everything we had was amazing and everything that came out of the kitchen looked wonderful too. Started with the mozzarella tomato (caprese)salad, I had the Quinoa Biryani with sweet potato fries and hubby had barbecue and buffalo ribs (special) with french fries and ended with the creme brûlée. Would definitely really this restaurant.

Great food and fun atmosphere

Breakfast food was underwhelming and nothing great. Dinner on the other hand was great. Its on the expensive side. We got the Shrimp and Grits and it was spectacular! We also got a BBQ chicken pizza, not so good. The chicken was very bland and it didn't have enough sauce. But the crust was really good. Our servers weren't super friendly but not rude by any means. Just okay. Love the setting and the cleanliness of the facility.

We're vegetarian and sensitive to certain foods. Usually, it's east to find spots that accommodate us, but it seemed not to be the case up at Bear Lake. Thankfully, we found the Campfire Grill. The fries where delicious and not greasy, but the real star of the show was the roasted Brussels sprouts.

Nice ambience, beautiful location however cannot recommend the food for the price. Meat was over cooked, sauce was not good, management not willing to cooperate with pleasing customers. Do not recommend.

Choose food wisely

Went on a Wednesday evening at 5:30pm. It looks nicer in pictures. I had an Undercooked pork chop that had to be sent back and still came back too pink for me to eat so it sat on the plate and I ate the mashed potatoes and Veges which were good. Other family members said the burger and trout were very good. Staff was friendly. Dissatisfied with my meal at that price.

Underwhelming and overpriced

Subpar food at too high a price. I tried both their breakfast and dinner menus, and they were both a little underwhelming for the price that you pay. For a restaurant attached to such a family friendly location they did not have a lot of options for kids. You can tell that people try the restaurant once during their stay and the rest of the time they go into town for food, because there are better options around town.

Very disappointed

This place has definitely gone downhill The setting is lovely but the menu items are prepared in a very amateurish.fashion. Salmon served with instant mashed potatoes. Not for that price! Tortellini was WAY overcooked to the point of falling apart. Shrimp was nothing but ordinary.

Great service and atmosphere

The atmosphere was great. It was towards the end of the night so the restaurant was fairly quiet so it provided a nice and intimate setting. The special (pizza was great) and so were the wings. They were able to split the sauces on our wings so that we could try multiple flavors. They have announced that they'll be open during the winter months for the first time. I can only imagine what it looks like inside the restaurant with the floor to ceiling windows during a gentle snow storm. We'll definitely be returning.

Dining in a huge tent!

We loved the ambience of being in a cozy tent, but with no walls to separate us from the outdoors. (bugs are not an issue here!) We stumbled onto this restaurant while camping at the nearby state park and liked it so much we came back 2 weeks later to stay at the resort and dine again! Canon and Casey provided excellent service both visits. We LOVE the shrimp and asparagus pizza!

Bad food

prices for the food do not fit the menu…. Took 1hr to get pulled pork sliders. The meat on them looked like they had been ran under cold water before being served on the bun. Burgers were dry. The pizza is only thing they didn’t do wrong. It’s a cute place, but food quality is not the greatest for the price.

This place is amazing in every way!! The food , the ambiance, and the customer service is unmatched. Chef Hall nailed every dish we ordered. Polly our waitress was so warm and knowledgeable about all the dishes and the local area. This is a must dine if your ever in the area.
