Great food in a great place

I was staying in the attached motel so dinner here seemed very convenient. Encouragingly it was extremely busy when I arrived (maybe a tour group) but I got a seat on the counter by the window. It took a while for my order to be taken and for my beer to arrive, but the server was friendly and... read more

We had a great lunch here. Large portions and tasty items kept us satisfied the rest of the day. I would highly recommend stopping here for a meal if you are in town.

You’ll have to be hungry the finish their 2/3 lb. hamburger with all the trimmings. The Rib/Brisket Combo is the best around. They served the most tender brisket I have ever eaten. We went back for a second night. The T-bone was perfectly cooked as ordered and tender. Let me tell you - you could almost cut it with the... More

Looked online to make sure it would be open, called to make sure it would be open & the voicemail said it was, and then drive there from Bryce Canyon to stay in Escalante that night, arrive at 6:30 pm and the place is closed. Wouldn't be a giant deal if ANYTHING in that town is open. If you close... More

Excellent food and great service. Also a great selection of beers and wine. Totally unexpected. Worth the stop.

I had three dinners here in four days during a meeting in Escalante in early October. Once was with my wife and two other times with three to five friends. Everyone liked the food with wine or beer. It can be very crowded at 6pm since it is known to be the best restaurant in Escalante. It is associated with... More

One of the great the pleasures of travel is to find an unexpected gem in the middle of 'nowhere'. This was my experience in finding the Circle D on the road from Bryce Canyon headed for Capitol Reef National Park. The food was great, the service prompt, the coffee outstanding. Not wanting to disparage Utah, but one doesn't come for... More

I had the Circle D Omelette (minus the mushrooms) - the omelette and hash browns were very tasty. We first tried to go for dinner on Tuesday but found out that is the day they close to clean everything - happy to know they take their cleaning seriously :) So we went for breakfast the next day - glad we... We arrived for breakfast early. Only three couples in the place. We waited 20 minutes before getting coffee or ordering. One person does all the work and the other sits people to wait. The food was better than the service, but then the cook was gone shopping for some bread, which contributed to our 45 minute wait for breakfast. Coffee... More

We ate here all three nights during our stay in Escalante. They had awesome steaks which you have to ask for as they are not on the menu. The waitress told us its because of availability since they come from a local ranch (which made them yummy) . The burgers are also just as yummy. My husband had ribs one... More
