About
Carlos and Harley's Fresh-Mex Cantina (C&H Fresh-Mex Cantina) started with a vision to bring amazing Tex-Mex food to the Ogden Valley (the OV). For years, satisfied customers, locals and tourists alike, have enjoyed this vision turned-reality. What is Tex-Mex? It is a term used to describe a regional American cuisine that blends food products available in the United States and the culinary creations of Mexican-Americans influence by the cuisines of Mexico. Tex-Mex cuisine originated hundreds of years ago when Spanish-Mexican recipes combined with Anglo fare. "Tex-Mex" first entered the English language as a nickname (an abbreviation) for the Texas Mexican Railway in Southern Texas in 1875. Why

I ordered three different entrees on line and picked it up. When I paid the bill the total was much higher than the on line price. When I asked about it I was told that all of the prices had gone up. Also, they add...a 20% gratuity to all take out orders. I don't usually eat here due to the quality of the food, but I was trying to buy local and be supportive. I guess I won't do that again.More

Restaurant is in an historic general store. Menu has a wide range from Mexican fare to burgers. Indoor and outdoor seating, or sit in the casual full bar room. We had lunch - BLT, tacos & burgers. Good food and good service. Nice atmosphere to...wind down after a 100 mile motorcycle ride!More

This place is located in the towns old general store. It’s such a cute quaint little restaurant but with big flavor. The shredded beef was full of flavor and tender. Highly recommend getting the bacon wrapped jalapeño was so good! Not too spicy but very...flavorful. I built my own plate and tried the chicken taco with was very good, beef and cheese enchiladas. I will definitely return to try other stuff.More

We have been here before and have always had a good time. The dinner was good, I ordered the ribs and my Husband ordered the seafood burritos, they both came with beans and rice. The dinner was very good and we sat outside which was...very nice. I definitely recommend it if you are I the Eden area.More

My husband likes pork. But the pork Sandwich was not good as he expected. The manager gave him BBQ wings and she didn't charge anything for the sandwich. The tortilla soup was too spicy. I passed. I don't recommend this place

We ate here as a party of 3 for dinner on a Saturday night in Aug around 6:00. There was about a 10 minute wait for outdoor seating, no wait for indoor seating. We were greeted by the server with a bowl of warm chips...and salsa (mild red and a brown/green type) and our drink order was taken within 2 minutes of seating. The server returned with the drinks timely and took our food order. The server was new but kept checking on us to make sure that we had plenty to drink and kept our chips and salsa coming (we had three bowls) due to the wait time on our food. It ended up taking about 50 mins to get our food, they were busy with seated guests and with pick up orders. The server apologized multiple times for the wait, luckily we were not in a hurry. We noticed that they allowed for dogs to be seated with the outdoor seating, which is great for people who like to travel with their 4 footed friends. There were plenty of Mexican options burritos, enchiladas, tacos, etc. The only disappointment other than the wait time was that they did not have chili verde on the menu. But over all the service from the server was great and the food we ordered did not disappoint. We would go again, just knowing that it would not be for a quick bite to eat and perhaps not on a weekend.More

A friend recommended this place. I wish that I could write a review of the food, but... My wife & I walk in. Another couple is standing there. We ask if they’d been helped or in line etc.. They said no. We stood around at...the front “hostess stand” waiting. 25 minutes, nobody greeted us, said hello or even looked at us. Don’t waste your time - what a joke!More

I am a local and have been eating on and off at Carlos and Harley's for going on 10 years now. The restaurant itself is cool and nostalgic, but the fun ends there. There is no designated hostess, so they have 2-3 people seating people...on busy days and they all don't know what each other are doing. The waiting staff is poorly trained at best. I was seated under a TV and all I heard the whole time was a nature program. The TV can't be heard across the room, so how about turning the sound off and just play some music? The soup has come out cold on at least three occasions and the last time it came out, it had a dirty spoon in it. The waitress tried to replace just the spoon and I had to inform her that if the spoon was in the soup when it came out, then the soup is contaminated also. One time, the soup was taken back to be warmed up and it was very obvious that it had been microwaved, but not stirred up before it came back. I also got my dessert first, which was unusual. At times I have sat for 15 minutes or more waiting to get my bill and have had to go and ask for it. The food isn't bad at all, but varies from time to time and the mild salsa may as well just be tomato sauce as it has no flavor. I wish I could rate this place higher, but after this many inconsistencies, it simply doesn't deserve it. I will probably not go back, but I like the food, so take out it is.More

We are locals and enjoy the atmosphere at Carlos and Harley’s. Great servers and convenient. I just wish the food was better. Sometimes it’s good and other times not so much. Last time the rice was crunchy and not cooked. The Chile rellano was made...of some weird processed cheese, the burrito had been sitting too long and the carne asada was chewy. Other times I’ve really enjoyed the chicken poblano. Maybe it depends on who is cooking? I would love to love this place. Give it a try. Maybe you’ll have better luck.More
