Good food, fast service. Nothing super special about the food, meaning no signature items. But it was still very good. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the ingredients fresh.

Not impressed. The place has a cafeteria atmosphere that is noisy which having music in the background doesn't help. The waiter was good and attentive, but I can't say much for the cooks or the food. I was placed facing the kitchen where I watched...one cook helping himself to a snack while he was cooking. Nitrile gloves aren't much good if they get licked. He also seemed to be confused by a third of the orders and had to have the wait staff explain. Needless to say, my order took a long time to get. I ordered fried eggs and pancakes. There was nothing "fried" about the eggs. They were steamed, tasteless, rubbery and cold. While the pancakes were ok, the country potatoes were merely deep fried potato chunks with nothing special about them. I'll stick with Rambling Roads down the street, thank you.More
They have down-sized the size of their "heavenly pancakes" but kept the cost the same. Potatoes were not fresh- we apparently got the last batch before they decided to fry to more. Really? Potatoes? The location in Taylorsville is even worse. Stay away.
Extremely disappointed. Took my grandson to breakfast on a Friday morning @ about 11 AM. 30 minute wait for a table. So loud inside you couldn't hear the waitress taking my order. Food was out quickly. Grandson ordered a PAC omelet that came with so...little egg it was hardly an omelet, pancakes were very salty and my breakfast sandwich was a soggy croissant that was probably microwaved and then steamed to renew it, sausage was really awful. $30 for an omelet and breakfast sandwich, coffee and an OJ. McDonalds would have been a better choice Will not returnMore
If you want amazing breakfast food FAST, this place is it. Awesome eats, friendly staff, family friendly, buzzing with energy. People were EVERYWHERE from the minute we got there!! My hubby and I shared a mix of things so we could sample some of the...favorites…. The Big Breakfast gets you some protein and a few delicious pancakes - perfectly sweet and light. YUM! We also ordered the Fried Scone and the Penny Puffs - delish!! This lovely cafe did not disappoint!! And our server?? She rocked!! Fantastic customer service!!More
Out new favorite place for Breakfast. The food is amazing, the scones are a must appetizer, and their omelets and hot cakes are the best. If you are in Draper, stop by Penny Annes! You won’t regret it.
Went to meet with friends visiting the area. I looked on Trip Advisor to find a place for breakfast. Couldn’t believe how bad it was was. About half the amount you would get at Village Inn, my pancakes and my wife’s breakfast was cold and...the waitress was not the friendliest. Will never go there again.More
On August 5, 2021, my wife and I used a calendar coupon to have breakfast for our first time at Penny Ann’s Café on 12300 South in Draper. The coupon was good for one free entrée with an equal or greater cost entrée and was...the clincher on our choice for eating breakfast out this morning. Upon entering the front door, we did need to wait for just a minute while some of the staff were cleaning off a table. The place was already packed at 9:30 in the morning. Plan on experiencing some din in the room when the place is busy. Between the overall noise and the occasional near yelling of one or two other customers just for their mates to hear them, it did get pretty loud. A couple times during our visit, my wife had to ask me to repeat what I had just said, even though I thought I was talking loudly enough. My wife had the small breakfast and I had the big breakfast. Our waitress, Lexi, and her helpers were just about attentive enough, between taking our orders and checking back. I did have to ask for jelly for my toast, though, which had some butter in the center, but not near the edges. I ate the first half without jam, but waited for the jam for the second half after I requested some. During our visit, we noticed that the staff were all busy and attentive to their customers, while being friendly, yet professional. All the food was prepared about as expected. Our eggs were cooked about right. Neither of us was particularly impressed with the pancakes. They were okay, but not great. I’m not a big fan of pancakes, anyway, so don’t take my word for it. I can usually manage with a stack of pancakes if I have enough maple syrup to soak them in. The cubed potatoes could have used more time on the grill. They were cooked through, so I didn’t even get a hint of raw crunch in the middle, but the tanned outside could have used a little crispiness. For breakfast, I prefer crispy shredded hash browns, but I can live with the cubes, too, so long as they are cooked at least as much as these were. The side meats – bacon, ham, and sausage - were cooked about right, so those were okay, too. From what I’ve seen in other recent reviews, the prices have gone up a chunk. Maybe that’s from the recent virus issues and maybe not. I have included pictures of today’s menu. I don’t see myself going back to Penny Ann’s Café anytime soon. My wife mentioned that she’d probably prefer the pancake place next time. Even so, we both enjoyed our visit for the occasion. If you like a hearty breakfast, give Penny Ann’s Café a try when you find yourself in the neighborhood. Stay well and enjoy!More
Good service, food was hot and quic, large portions! Personal preference would be better syrup for the pancakes. The pancakes were good but not the very best as stated. The French toast was good but very cinnamony. Average price.
Incredible food, loud, energetic atmosphere, the ability to check in online saved us a LONG wait, and our server Gema was an absolute “Gem”! I’ll come back and request her every time!
We have been eating at Penny Ann's for years. The food is very good and it is a very popular restaurant. However, we were there today and, once again they got my take-out order wrong, left off the toast (this is the third time they...have gotten it wrong). Here is the problem, not a single server (ok, maybe two) was wearing a mask. There is no longer a mask mandate in Salt Lake County, but most of the businesses continue to require their servers to wear them, in our mind to respect their customers. The place was packed, warm and humid. I am so glad I have been vaccinated and was wearing a mask. The food is fine, but if you are worried about Covid spreading through the air, you might want to wait awhile.More
Breakfast is not my favorite meal of the day, but as my husband and I were out celebrating his birthday and had woken up at the crack of dawn, we decided to try Penny Ann's for his first time, my second time. We got there...before 7:30 so we didn't have any wait. I got the chile verde skillet because I'd read good reviews of it. When I first got it, the chile verde was luke warm. I asked them to fix that and they did quickly. Personal preference is that chile verde should be spicy, and this was not. Husband had the garden skillet. That was really good with a delicious hollandaise sauce. We both had the Heavenly Hot cakes. I loved those! My only regret was that I was too full to finish them. Overall, it was fine, but just seemed a step up from any other breakfast place.More
The service was excellent and the food was fantastic. Great value for the money and a fun environment. Will be back for sure, more than once!
We used the Yelp ap as directed to get on a wait list early. After 2 hour wait we arrived at our scheduled time and checked in with the desk. They told us we were still 10th in line and said it would probably be...another 30-45 min wait. Showing how upset we were at their response they went on to blame the delay on the number of "to-go" orders that was slowing down the kitchen. What an unprofessional response, displaying their poor management, prioritizing to-go orders. After another 20 minutes (total 2 hr 20 min) we were still 8th in line and decided to go somewhere else. Unbelievable.More
I've had a couple of frustrating experiences with my orders. The first was an online order that I had placed in Oct, the night before I was to pick it up. The next morning I went to the front of the restaurant to pick up...my order, and no one was around to help me, which is fine because they are busy. Except this wasn't the case. There were 3 or 4 waitresses standing in the opposite corner chatting away. They were in absolutely no hurry to get back to work. Once finished chatting, a waitress came over to me, and I told her that I wanted to pick up an order. I told her my name, in which she responded there is no such order. I told her that I had placed it online the night before. She said (to my shock), that they have been so busy that she hasn't had a chance to look at the online orders. (You have got to be kidding me)! Finally after some time, she managed to get an order placed, which took some doing. I sat there for quite a long time waiting for my food. She didn't bother to ask if I'd like some water, coffee, whatever, for the inconvenience. Then today, Jan., my husband called in an order. The person who took the order said they will call back in 15 min to get our credit information, etc. then hung up. Finally, after 40 minutes of no call, my husband had called them to ask about our order. They had no record of the order my husband had placed 40 min earlier. No explanation, no excuses, nothing. We love Penny Anne's Cafe, but there is no excuse to not take customers online, or phone orders seriously. I really don't understand their blasé attitude.More
