We found this place I see in a small advertisement outside of market on scenic highway 12. They are located a few miles off the highway very secluded on a ranch. The grounds are beautiful and they grow and locally source most of the ingredients and everything is made from scratch. Excellent value for the money. The shop in general manager amount to talk to us. They let us walk the grounds. We were there very early when they opened. Reservations are suggested and if you can be there for the sunset it's even better.

We stayed in the Boulder Mountain Ranch lodge building 2 nights, just up the stairs from the small restaurant. We ate on the deck which was beautiful. All ingredients are very fresh. The beef is from the ranch. I had a steak one night and a burger the next, both were as good as any I have had anywhere. The soup, veggies, salad, home made desserts were all great. The staff was very nice and spoke to us about living on the ranch. They really love the place. I highly recommend this gem which is off the beaten path. Make reservations and they may not be open every day in off season.

Happily Sweetwater was taking reservations. Food was great and we were treated to some unexpected music by local musicians. A lovely dining experience in the outdoor patio. Be sure to check hours of operation.

The reviews for this place looked great so we were excited to have our anniversary dinner at the Sweetwater Kitchen. They were taking reservations and it was patio dining which was helpful. The food was good and the waitress was very helpful. We just had one concern - there were some kitchen staff that were off duty that evening and they were dining at the table near us. They were very vocal to say they worked at the Sweetwater Kitchen. However as the evening went on, unfortunately several tables including ours could hear their conversations about f***ing tourists and how they really disliked the tourists in the area and how the tourists have no f***ing respect for them. It kind of killed the atmosphere for the evening - since I am a tourist and I was there to support the economy of my state. I think the language was a bit loud, crude and unfair. One table by them requested to move tot he other side of the patio. I kind of wished we could have moved as well. I just didn’t appreciate the derogatory remarks about tourists when it is a lot of tourism that keeps small establishments like yours going. Other than that - the meal was well prepared and the staff working was very cordial.

Dear Joelle, I am so sad to read your review, I am so sorry you had to hear such awful things from people that claim to work here, they should have more respect and awareness. There is no excuse for such language and of course our business is solely dependent on that of tourism, we love our tourists! Hope you can visit us again next year. -Eva

We had a late dinner at Sweetwater Kitchen. There are very few places to eat nearby so we were lucky that Sweetwater is open late. It is located at an isolated lodge off Hells Backbone road a few miles outside of Boulder UT. The tables were all outside and heat lamps were available. We had golden beet salad, local trout, and berry rhubarb crisp. All of the dishes were delicious and well prepared.

Delicious food and creative, safe delivery. Serving to-go meals on the weekends as well as delicious frozen options to enjoy at home later. Website is easy to use and prices are reasonable for portions and quality. We enjoyed a picnic meal on the property.

Visited Utah for a week and this was possibly my girlfriend's favorite stop (better than the parks). The restaurant is small and cozy, the cocktails were great, and the steak was amazing. It has a great ambiance and the servers give great recommendations. If you stay overnight, you'll get to pick up a breakfast basket to enjoy in the morning, and the coffee is good too! Highly recommend a visit!

The food was amazing. The drinks were made from scratch- down to a homemade simple syrup. The affordability of the food is remarkable considering the quality and time that must go into each meal.

We stopped on a whim and enjoyed the food and the ambience we went back again. The hot chocolate and scones were perfect. But the brownies were amazing.

Everything about Sweetwater Kitchen was outstanding. We had steaks - delicious. The view was awesome and our waiter, Jonathan, did a fantastic job. If given the choice, sit on the deck and enjoy the views.

I went there with a group of old friends and requested an outside table where we could be distant but enjoy a quality meal prepared for us. We brought wine (reasonable corkage fee) but started with cocktails. I had the margarita but most had the Old Fashion and it was unclear which one was better, but only because we each thought ours was the best. The highlight was the food. Chef Eric is just killing it- I've been going for a few years and always am amazed how he progresses the menu, never resting on his laurels. I had been on a big hike that day and was drawn to a hearty burger. Hands down, the best burger I've had. The beef is locally raised on one of their other ranches. I had the beet salad which was amazing (I don't love beets but was craving a salad). The guy next to me had the Fried Chicken Sandwich and couldn't believe how great it was- he was expecting something more simple but loved the complex, delicious flavors. The guy on my right had the ribeye and devoured it. The restaurant is managed by Eva who was very helpful dealing with size and time changes by our group with grace and gratitude. Our server was Kyra who handled a larger, loud, boisterous group with what I assume was a smile behind her mask. Bottom line- when you drive out Hells Backbone Road and down a dirt road, you would never expect to find such a killer dinner spot. Be sure to get a reservation as they don't have a ton of room and it's popular with locals and visitors alike. If the owners Ron and Brandie are around, be sure to ask them to see their dance hall/ "Psyloon" built into the side of a hill and a world-class sound studio they built to attract world class musical talent.

My wife and I went to Sweetwater on whim, only because Burr Trail Grill (which we also love) was unexpectedly closed. What a great accident that turned out to be! Sweetwater is off in the boonies, in a big log building. The atmosphere inside perfectly matches the remote setting. The food turned out to be even better than the atmosphere. Every dish had a great blend of flavors and textures. My wife got the hamburger, and it was the best burger either of us has ever tasted. The beef is locally-sourced, it was charred on the outside but not too well-done on the inside, and the cheese on top of the patty had been put under a flame and grilled. To top it all off, there was a wonderful singer/guitar player.
