Six of us had dinner there twice on a recent birding trip to Zapata. Not fancy, but the food and service were both very good. Family owned and operated (owner/mom in the kitchen and in the dining room chatting with customers, daughter-in-law waitressing one of the nights we were there). I had enchiladas (different types) both nights and they hit the spot. They have a nice dessert menu – their apple pie a la mode was delicious. A nice comfortable choice for a good meal in Zapata.

Wonderful service, the food was good, and the price was cheap. We ate mexican food and it was pretty good. The cheese enchiladas and the tacos were really good. The dessert menu looked amazing but we didn't have any. I'd eat there again when traveling through town !

Our church enjoys eating here every Sunday. Love their specials. We eat here often for breakfast and evening dinners. Love the owner and her family. The wait staff are great.

It was an awful experience-- the owner was extremely rude to my 95 year old mother. I do not recommend this restaurant.

I am not from Zapata, but some of my relatives live there. Every time I visit, our family goes to the Holiday! The cheese enchiladas there are absolutely amazing. The burgers are great too. The environment is really peaceful; it is never too noisy. The food is also reasonably priced, and there are a variety of options on the menu to choose from. Another great part about the Holiday restaurant is the staff. The waiters are wonderful. Ms. Claudia, the owner, is so friendly! I definitely recommend this restaurant. Hope this review helps!

We stopped here after a long day of bird watching. A couple of us had the chicken quesadilla appetizer and it was delicious!! The bean chalupa was fresh, not greasy and very tasty. Two deserts we tried were flan and banana bundt cake. Both were excellent. Service was also friendly and efficient.

Lunch visit with wife. Had been there previously and had carne guisada; wife had enchiladas. Service was good but food fell flat. Carne guisada (my moms specialty) was very ordinary and enchilada plate was "microwave variety". Have had better meals in the past at this same location.

This restaurant is under new ownership less than a year ago, so the older posts are not applicable. I eat in restaurants the majority of the time in my travels around the country. This is one of my favorite restaurants. I've eaten at most Zapata restaurants dozens of times. Regardless of what the other posts say, this is the best restaurant in town. The service is friendly and efficient, the food is consistent and the place is clean. They have plenty of seating, and a private meeting room with bar (beer/wine). The salad bar and soup is always excellent. I would generally call the Tex-Mex and southern cooking with broad choices.

We had dinner and we should have selected a different restaurant. Service was slow and their phone was more important. Food was warm and tasted like it was cooked yesterday. Do not plan to visit again
