Decided to try the Ham and cheese omelette with a biscuit. The omelette was good but would have liked having a bit more ham and cheese. Added sausage gravy to the biscuit. This was a good call for sure - really upped the game. The...meal also came with grits. The grits were plain but well prepared.More

After reading the reviews, my husband and I were looking forward to have breakfast here as well as a piece of pie. We both ordered a basic breakfast, my husband had pancakes and I got hashbrowns. The pancakes were so tough that they had to...be cut with a knife. The hashbrowns were overcooked and very crunchy/dry. The scrambled eggs were bland. The bacon and Texas toast were the two most edible things. The pies looked like they had been sitting in the case for too long. My husband got a bad belly ache on the way home and we both agreed that we’d never eat there again. A very disappointing visit.More

This was our second time trying this place, making sure the first time wasn't a fluke. Wow it was it great again. We both tried something different and again were extremely pleased. My Texas cheese steak sandwich was excellent and my wife's club was perfect....The onion rings were awesome! Waited for the chocolate pie and wasn't disappointed. Well worth the stop.More

10/21/21 - wife and I plus another couple had breakfast here. Can't say enough about the hospitality - just good old southern greatness. Place was clean, food was excellent, service was great and pricing was on par with quality of food. Pancakes were light and...fluffy.More

Got there at 11:00 AM Sunday. Starting to fill up. We ordered coffee with cream before our friends arrived. We were informed we would have to buy a bottle of milk as they only had the chemical substitute! Our friends arrived and ordered coffee. Our milk...still not delivered. Finally, when the bottle of milk arrived, the coffee was cold. Not only that, it tasted like "dirty sock" coffee--- so bad that it must've been left over from the previous night! The pinto beans were completely tasteless. I tried adding salsa, salt and pepper to no avail! The rest of the meal was passable. The coffee never got hot! The waitstaff did all wear masks. I blame poor management!More

This is a hidden gem, we had the chicken fried steak and fried pork chops. They serve home made mash potato's and delicious homemade cakes and pies, The staff is super courteous and funny. Elizabeth was our waitress and she was amazing! If you get...to Whitney Texas you have to stop for a bite rather it is coffee and pie or lunch or dinner, also serves breakfast. If we ever get thru Whitney again it is a must!More

Salads are huge and very good. Limits our choices because we don't eat burgers. I got the Tuscan Chicken salad and my husband got the grilled chicken salad. I particularly liked mine because it was on a bed of spinach with balsamic dressing.

Tanir made the visit! He was funny and made our food happen. It is so simple, but finding a spinach, chicken, cheese and ranch salad is not that easy to come by. He was super accommodating and made the memorable.

We have been going to The Cafe for several years and have even recommended it to several people. Unfortunately the last few few times we have been there we have noticed a decline in the food. Today was the worst. We stopped in on a...Thursday around 2 and decided we both wanted a breakfast. My husband ordered the grilled pork chop breakfast with medium eggs and hash browns, and I ordered the Starving Marvin with scrambled eggs with cheese and hash browns. After an excessive wait my husband’s breakfast came out with hard eggs and burnt potatoes and mine came out with burnt potatoes, they put cheese on top of the potatoes instead of in the eggs. The waitress caught their mistake and they just threw extra cheese on top of the eggs. Totally inexcusable to ruin an order like that. If you think about it a breakfast should be the easiest thing any restaurant could make. Going forward we will not be going back nor will they be getting any recommendations, there are plenty restaurants that can do a far better than what we were served. The only reason they got 2 stars is because we can’t blame the server.More
