We had one of the lunch specials--sausage, sweet kraut, and Czech fries. Very, very good. The portions were good and the prices reasonable. I just wish I saved room for the pie.

Ate here on a Monday night. There was several people eating. Daily special was chicken fried steak. That was what hubby ordered. I had the combo plate. Sausage and kraft were great. The cabbage roll was not like any cabbage rolls that I had ever had. I would not recommend them. Everything was sweet. ..the kraut, the sauce on cabbage... More

Twice on trips between Dallas and Austin, my wife and I stopped for dinner at the Czech American Restaurant. The fact that we stopped a second time would indicate that we were pleased...and that is the case...and we'll stop in more times if the opportunities arise. The restaurant is housed in an old building in downtown West. It's a very... More

My husband and I were recommended this place by friends and we both enjoyed our meals. It was a weekday and they were not real busy. Service was quick.

Been driving past many times and decided to stop for lunch. Great decision. The service was wonderful and the food was amazing. We tried a slice of every pie.

The Czech American Restaurant is probably misnamed. It probably should be named the American Czech Restaurant. This is a small-town diner along I-35. The prices are relatively cheap and the portions are plentiful. It is located in an old building in the central part of town. Simply because the food has an Eastern European flair which differentiates it from the... More

We travel through the small town of West, Texas several times a year, and recently, we chose to stop here for lunch as part of our travel routine. The Czech American Restaurant offers hearty dishes, sandwiches, burgers, and some classics like pierogies and Czech sausages. As the name implies, this is not purely Czech cuisine, but a kind of mix... More
