We had a late lunch at Shalamar Restaurant. Jessie greeted us when we entered and helped us choose three dishes to share between the two of us: palak paneer, goat karahi, and chana masala, served with basmati rice and naan. Each dish was delicious! Highly...recommended! I would be happy to return and try more of the many dishes on the menu.More

A hole in the wall place. Good food, reasonable prices. Do not expect anything fancy. Great for vegetarian, goat etc dishes. Will go back.

Great food. Friendly service. Lots of home-made food and has many vegetarian options. Plan to visit again.

Nice quick fix for those days you don't want to cook North Indian food. Try the Mutton biryani, or the fried fish. No ambiance, no frills..(i'd give a 4, but the food is not authentic/and a little pricey fast food)

Little restaurant easy to miss in a Hwy 3 strip center. I am not a huge curry fan but Shalimar has a variety of dishes and very few have a curry taste. Best are their grilled meats... oh, yes, and the samosas. Very reasonable.

I recommend the Shalamar (correct spelling, not Shalimar) Tray for a good way to sample several dishes. All are delicious: Chicken Biryani, Karahi Chicken, Dael, Chapli, Kabob, Aloo Qeema, Rita and Nan. A good deal at $14--lots of good food. They also have a display...case where you can purchase sweets. Even Samosas. Large menu offers vegetarian, goat, fish/shrimp & beef dishes. Order at the counter and they serve you at the table. All seating is booths. Not fancy, but tidy & clean surroundings. The 2 older ladies who take turns working the counter where you place your order and pay, are very helpful helping you navigate the menu items.More

This is my go-to place when I don't feel like cooking at home. The food is healthier than other eating-out options, yummy, not too spicy, good portion sizes, good price, and good variety. It meets the various dietary needs in my family. I eat halal/zabiha...only. I had family visit from out of town and some are vegetarian or vegan. This place has regular menu options for all of us and my family also really enjoyed the food. They have seafood dishes as well, which I have not tried. They are open until 11 pm, which has helped for some late night eating options when other restaurants are closed. I've dined in and ordered take out.More

We stopped in for lunch yesterday. We had the Pakora for a starter that was Great, but the dipping sauce was too hot for my wife so be careful if you don't like spicy stuff. I thought it was amazing. We had the Chicken Tikka...Misala for lunch and it was Totally Authentic and very tasty. We'll go back next time we are near.More

It's a good, simple, all day open Indian restaurant. Both, Veg and non-veg dishes, were good. Paneer was too soft and tasty as well.

This restaurant stays open late and that is how we came to visit this pace every day for the three days we were in Houston.
