We enjoyed lunch with our grandsons and sisters. Everyone except one grandson opted for the fried catfish. It was fried to perfection! The portions from the lunch menu were generous. Service by Brandon was very good. We will definitely be back!

Well..I will start by saying the garlic butter snow crab boil was good, over cooked, but good. But there were two of us, and his meal was such a let down. Mahi Mahi and shrimp. Blackened. The plate came to the table and compared to...my boil which was only 7 dollars more, looked as if he had ordered the childrens portion. Flanked by 4 tiny shrimp, the fish was small, brutally over cooked, and the red beans and rice were cold. To top it off his knife was dirty. Service was slow..to her credit, the server was new but I am assuming the cook was not. Although there seemed to be 5 or 6 servers there, she seemed to be the only one waiting tables. Don't think we will be returning. Over all impression was underwhelming. And portions and price were not equal to the atmosphere, service or quality of meal.More

Had the blackened catfish and shrimp. It was very good, and the service was also very good. Came here when first opened and not impressed. A couple years later, decided to try again. Glad I did, its back on my list of places to eat

A-mazing Cajun food! The Gator Plate was so delicious. There was flavor in every bite. My husband got the Catfish and Shrimp basket which was another hit! The sauces are homemade and you can tell the difference. So good! I consider myself a high food...critic and this place hit the mark on flavor.More

The poor service and lack of communication outweighed the good food. Took ages just to get 4 waters--then we got 2 and had to wait again for the other 2. They were never refilled. Took ages to get 2 adult beverages. Took ages to get...a salad, and that plate was never removed. Took more than ages to get our dinners. By that time a table had received their food who arrived after we ordered. Two other tables received their dinners within minutes of us and they'd been there only a few minutes. When I asked our server about this, her only response was to pass blame to the cook and say he prepared the tickets in no regular order. No reparations were made, no discounts given, no visit from the manager who was sitting on his butt at the bar.More

Got a catfish basket. It was average. Ordered cajun fries and they just tasted like a potato wedge fry with salt & pepper. Next time I'll try to dine in.

Started with a dozen raw and opted for the fried catfish and shrimp entree. Oysters good, the entree not so much. Didn't like breading on the fish. Shrimp were tough and tasteless, probably previously frozen. Red beans and rice were poor as well. Cajun fries...and cole slaw were only okay. Hushpuppies had a good taste but the small balls bordered on being overcooked. Service was slow, and it wasn't even half full of diners. That said, I will go back to try something other than their fried food.More

Millennial son and I ate lunch here while Mom in surgery nearby. We lived in Lake Charles, LA for a long time and are "honorary coonasses," though we are from Texas. Son had coconut shrimp, I had butterflied, both with a bowl of gumbo. MUCH...better than I expected to find here! Cole slaw had a little bite; I asked chef, other than the black pepper, what's in it? He told me "a little jalapeno." Shrimp was cooked perfectly, side of potatoes (similar to, but not, "french fries,") were quite good. Gumbo was good; not outstanding. Portion size plentiful, service friendly, food prepared quickly and well plated. Fairly priced. Would go back.More

We wanted to try something new in town and looked at the other reviews for this place. The staff were very attentive to our needs. The food was delicious and you got a lot of food for the price. My shrimp boil was a little...spicy for the least spicy choice, but it was still great.More

When we told the waitress one of us was still trying to decide between the gator or the steak she excitedly announced "we have steak! see right here on the menu!" Well.. that was how we knew it was a choice.. when asked what SIDES...are available she began to list sauces "we have Tatar sauce, cocktail sauce and you have hot sauce on the table" strange.. but she was nice. The plates were brought out one at a time with large gaps in between. When I received my plate (Coconut Shrimp Basket) I picked up one shrimp and had to shift it to my back teeth to bite it then work to chew it.. I did not touch any other piece of food on the plate, I was not eating that and it was too late to order something else because my plate had been brought last, everyone else was half done eating - I sent the entire plate.. ALL of the food back and asked them to remove it - I did not eat the coleslaw, I did not eat the potatoes, while they may have been somewhat palatable I was not going to be forced to pay for an entire basket when the main item on it was inedible so I ate NONE of it - the owner said I could order something else but she was not in the business of making an entire meal only to have a customer send it back when they decided they are not hungry - NOT HUNGRY?! I WAS FREAKING STARVING - I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO COCONUT SHRIMP - NOT HUNGRY?! I missed the opportunity to eat a meal with my family, I was going to have to get food somewhere else when I left and eat alone since everyone else had eaten - and then to have her try to embarrass me in front of the entire restaurant by declaring loudly at my table that It was not her fault I decided I was not hungry was just unacceptable. During our entire meal the manager/owner bartender and multiple servers stood at the bar telling stories about previous complaining customers and other waitstaff/servers who were not there at the moment or were no longer employed there.More

My friend and shared the sampler platter and still needed a to-go box! I loved the fried catfish and the french fries were cooked perfectly. FYI... The parking lot is in the back of the restaurant
