I never buy anything in the overpriced shop but I love the turkey sandwich and the spinach salad with citrus vinaigrette! I also love the apricot chicken salad! So yummy. I also love their tea, very special.

Quaint cafe with painted scenery on the walls. The menu is unique soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts. Not the standard fare. I do not give it five stars because the Waite can be long, lingering is not incouraged and they don't like to customize your order.

Doves Nest is located in a unique antique mall in the heart of town close to the infamous Ellis County Courthouse. A popular place for all from attorneys on lunch break from court to ladies shopping to construction workers. The menu has a great variety of sandwiches, salads, soups, and special of the day. I highly recommend the chicken-apricot salad... More

An attractive restaurant within a shop that sells knick knacks and antique looking items;fun to browse through. Menu is limited to soup, salad, and sandwiches, and combinations. I had a good Reubens sandwich, with lots of pastrami and a sauerkraut that had just the right tang. I ordered a cup of mushroom and rice soup that was LOADED with mushrooms!... More

Stopped in here for lunch while traveling from Fort Worth to Houston. We read about this place on TripAdvisor (great reviews) but were totally blown away... what a wonderful place to eat, with even better food. I had the daily special (brisket sandwich) and my wife had the smoked turkey/ham sandwich. Both were out of this world.... excellent by any... More

It was a bit girlie/foofoo for an old country boy, but my wife loved it! The food was really good as was the service, but it was full of cackling hens and decorated for them! Men, if you want to score points with mama, take her here!

Perfect for a ladies lunch or relaxing cup of tea with friends. Great food, refreshing drinks, and yummy desserts. So popular with locals that wait times are a thing, so don't be in a rush.

I've eaten here several times and I've never had a bad meal. The food is very well prepared and the menu is varied. I only wish they were open for breakfast.

Enter the Dove's Nest antique shop and wander around to the back of the shop where the entrance to the restaurant is. As this is a very popular restaurant for locals, there can be a wait, especially when events are going on in town. We were there on a Friday during the Vintage Market Days event, and we had to... We visited this cafe earlier in the week and I was surprised at how busy it was with folk enjoying the delicious food on offer. I had an Avocado, BLT sandwich which came with a mountain of crisps and a delicious sweetcorn chutney (9 dollars I think) - it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The... More
