Enjoyed the lunch visit. Gumbo good and spicey. On the river. Full bar available. Plenty variety on menu. Think you will enjoy it.

This is a must go-to while in Waco, TX. The restaurant is located on the bank of the Brazos River near downtown, on I-35. The offer outdoor seating on a dock over the river where you can feed the turtles and ducks. They have great seafood and Cajun dishes, and their bar is great for hanging out or watching sports.... Very frustrating. When we ate here the first time the food was decent, the 2nd time just so, so the third time awful. This is a fun place to take out of town guests but not if the food is hit and miss..
I swear each time I've tried this place I've gotten sick. The first time I got sick was actually when my husband and I went for Valentine's day and order oysters (ok our fault on that one) but the next time I tried it I ordered Crawfish and Shrimp Gumbo and still got sick!! I'm done giving this one second... More
My family brought me for my birthday and I was totally satisfied. Some of the best Crawfish Etoufee I've ever had and the alligator tails were a great appetizer. Not only was the food cooked properly, the seasonings and sauces were outstanding. Our server, Tony, was knowledgeable, attentive, and quick-witted. I recommend Buzzard Billy's to anyone stopping by Waco.
We came with a really large group for lunch. Most of us ordered the catfish basket, which was hot and good. The homemade fries were very good. but the hush puppies were totally greasy. The others who ordered hamburgers or sandwiches reported mediocre meals. The service was OK. But the view and the deck experience made up for it- eat... More
The food and the atmosphere make Buzzard Billy's a winning combination. The jambalaya (regular or seafood) is of the right consistency and the spice level leaves your lips with that pleasing "tingle." The house specialties have a box around them as you are looking at the menu. If you are a fan of Cajun or Creole cooking there is something... More
Heading back from a business trip and needed lunch in Waco. Used app to find this place. Missed the turn the first time but glad we circled around and tried again! On the river and almost tucked under the iconic bridge we had a delicious Cajun style lunch with a cold beer. Would love to come back on warmer day... More
We totally enjoyed a delightful lunch at Buzzard Billy's during the holiday season. We say outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather in Waco. During our lunch, there was a terrible accident that happened on the overhead freeway with a car landing on the grass between the expressway and the river right next to the restaurant. This provided quite a stir... More
