They have been doing these sandwiches for a long time, and they do it really well. Makes for a really nice lunch. The toasted buns are my favorite - hot and crispy - and a really generous serving. You order and pay at the counter, and they call your number for you to pick up at the counter. This location... More

The veggie sandwich was probably one of the best veggie sandwiches I've ever had. It seemed pretty simple with the veggie on it, but the taste was extremely impressive. I would certainly go back here again the next time I am in Waco.

Had the blue plate special at Schmaltz's, it came with signature sandwich, chips & a drink. Sandwich was similar to Schlotzsky's original sandwich, but was better tasting. If you are in Waco,TX. around lunch time, give Schmaltz's a try.

Had a great lunch with business associates. I had the tuna and it was just like I would make at home. Also had the Santa Fe stew and it was wonderful - but be sure you like beans! Others tried the schmaltzs sandwich and said it was good as well. No complaints, but plan ahead as this place is busy!!!!!

I have been eating sandwiches here for MANY, MANY, MANY years. I do not like the idea of spending money on a sandwich, but this is a true exception. The bread is homemade daily. The sandwiches are big and filling.

We visited Schmaltz's after shopping at Magnolia. The sandwich meat is piled high between a super fresh baked bun. And the soup was amazingly good (also served with a freshly baked roll) and hit the spot even though it was summer!

This locally owned sandwich shop is hugely popular with locals. There are several types of sandwiches, a couple of daily soups and salads. The most popular is the "schmaltz" namesake sandwich. Unless you're really hungry, the small is usually filling enough. To avoid the lunch time crowd, try to come at 11:30 or after the 12:00 rush. You can call... More

The smell of fresh bread lets you know your appetite is in good hands here. Pride in their product shows from start to finish. If you have any questions, the helpful counter people cheerfully answer them and make spot on recommendations. You can't go wrong with their signature sandwich and a bag of chips or slaw, if you prefer. They... More

We eat there and have eaten there since attending Baylor. Great place for lunch and a good bargain, too!

Stopped into Schmaltz's Sandwich Shop yesterday for a quick bite and ordered my favorite sandwich as usual. Awesome as usual. Turkey and swiss on the best bread ever!! Always a treat to go there :)
