LEXI is a FANTASTIC SERVER!

We get to George's about 1 or 2 times a month and always have great food and a great place to watch sport and for some reason always meet fun new people. It's just got that kind of vibe. However, the last two times in the bar, Lexi waited on us and gotta say, she's really great. We own several service-tourism businesses as well as our own bar and restaurant (not in Waco) and eat out extensively. Lexi is a gem. Just wanted to give her a shoutout. She actually engages her customers even tho' she's running all over. Gives you recommendations on what's good and what's not. Always checking on her folks as well and doing it with a smile.

Excellent Casual Dining

Casual dining. We split a catfish dinner, with coleslaw and fried okra. Also a side of onion rings. All was excellent, cooked to perfection. Especially the onion rings. I ordered a draft Youngling’s amber which came in a heavily frosted schooner. Perfection! Service was likewise good despite every table being full. A good experience and we’ll be back!

Good Food & Bar Service

Stopped here on a busy Friday evening and lucked out with two bar seats. Michelle provided great service and attentive follow-up. Food was served promptly as ordered and meals were very tasty. This place warrants repeat visits!!

We are staying at an Airbnb, in Hewitt Texas, the Host suggested the restaurant. We ordered the potato skins, which where ever I have eaten them came with soar cream to dip. When they came, they came with no soar cream. It took five minutes to get someone to bring me some. My food was all right I guess but when she finally came back I told her that the potato skins should come with soar cream, and that I have never seen. Them served with ranch. She said that everyone ordered them that way, so that is what they came with. She was a little rude about it. Oh also, they weren’t done in the middle. We realized at this time that it was a local watering hole. It was middle of the road and a little pricey.

GOOD TO HAVE YOU BACK and BE BACK

Just visited for the first time in several months since the shelter-in-place got lifted. Good to see the crowd from the neighborhood! Had to wait about 15 minutes was no big thing. Tables were spaced too. But food was good as ever as were the drinks and just felt badly for our server who had to try to work and talk to us through her mask! Had a patty melt and my wife had the fried shrimp! We'll keep supporting you folks!

Great Homestyle Meals - Cheap

Went to eat here with family and friends and had a great time. The restaurant is big on the inside with indoor as well as outdoor seating available. The Chicken Fried Steak was great as well as the Mac and Cheese. Waitstaff was friendly. Even had a manager come by and ask us if everything was ok. Highly recommend this place as a family friendly establishment offering food at a very reasonable price.

Great place to dine with friends/family!

This is a popular Waco restaurant .. alway busy! The Hewett Dr location is their #2 location. It's a great place to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We have tried their eggs + hash browns, waffles & chicken, and pancakes, when we dine there for breakfast. Always a generous serving & quite good. Most recently, we went for dinner and ordered the grillled Tilapia. It was delicious! My cousin's favorite is their fried catfish. They have a busy bar area and folks have the option to dine in a screened, but often, breezy patio area. In the Texas heat, we prefer dining in one of their spacious air conditioned dining areas. George's is a nice place to meet family & friends, enjoy the festive environment, and a great meal.

Very disappointed in the food

Very disappointEd on visit last Monday. Had Hawaiian chicken which was very tough and dry. Baked potato was room temperature and undercooked. Wife’s was same. Asked for new potatoes. They came out a little warmer but barely cooked. Sent them back and they were microwaved and returned to table warmer but still uncooked. Waitress apologized but nothing was corrected.

The food is good. We have been dining at both George's for over 15 years but no more. About three years or so ago. Capital One sent me a text saying my service must have been very good or something was wrong. Later we found out the girl at the original store was not happy with her 20% tip so she changed it to 50%. A call to the restaurant and it was quickly fixed. This time at the newer place. The girl changed the ticket after it was signed and added a 60% tip after I signed the bill and had left. I text the restaurant several times but could never get a good answer besides she must have made a mistake . So after 10 days called Capital one. They removed the tip. So for all you Baylor parents, if you see some really strange things on your kids card. You may want to check.

Great food , good service and a friendly atmosphere. What more can you want in a restaurant? Large number of locals on a Thursday evening but we were still seated in less than 5 minutes. Definitely will go back.

Rude and dry!!!

Called it in at 12:45 and had to wait till 1:25. I had to wait for someone in back to check me out. The two in the front wound not check me out. The women that were working there was very rude. Futhermore , I ordered a sliced bbq sandwich and when I opened it and it was chopped and dry. . They had the attitude that I was bothering them.

Great meal

Awesome meal. Even though the restaurant was packed, we were sat within 5 min. And had our food on the table within 10 minutes of walking in the door. I got the Catfish, which was crunchy in the outside, but pillowy on the inside. Everyone else got burgers which were also really good. Well be back.

This is a sports bar, but great!

This is a sports bar, but a good one. Great TVs, great food and great service. I had a Philly Cheese Steak and fries, my wife had fried chicken. All great. Will return. Had a salad as well that was perfect. We will be back.

Amazing time

In town for a few hours and convinced the family we had to go here because of the Pat Green song. Ee truly enjoyed the place. The Cadillac Burger was fantastic, the smokehouse burger was great and the George was out of this world. However, I had to have the Pat Green Southern Chicken with queso and pico de gallo. It was fantastic. Too bad I don't travel to Waco often or this would be a mandatory "go to:" place

Fantastic food and service! Go Hannah and George’s!!!!

Don’t write reviews very often but this was a fantastic experience and great food. I came in with my wife and kids and stopped in to try something different. Our server Hannah was absolutely lovely! Fun, knowledgeable about the menu and great with our kids. She went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Honestly some of the best service and food we’ve had in a very long time. Keep up the great work Hannah and George’s! We will absolutely be back.
