I had a late lunch here just the other day. The food was absolutely wonderful. It was probably the best meal I had during my weekend in Waco. This is a farm-to-table restaurant, and there are buildings around the restaurant that house different crafts for sale and artisans who explain the crafts.

This café is next to a working farm - using very fresh products. Grass fed beef and fresh veggies. Great staff - excellent service. But -- save room for dessert!! We split the pear spiced cake with caramel drizzle - pure confectionery joy. Give yourself a break and come enjoy.

The Cafe Homestead is a sweet little cabin tucked away from downtown Waco. Food & service are great; they only lost a star due to very limited menu selection--really, soups & sandwiches are all that's available. The restaurant is located in the center of a craft village--which is owned by a local church of some sort--which was fun to explore... More

Was great to walk around the village and enjoy the art/craft items. Everyone was so friendly and was glad to tell us about the yarn, spinning, cheese, mill items and forgery. Enjoyed lunch at the Cafe and the food was simple and delicious. We each had the half vegetarian pita and the soup which was great. I would say we... More

This is such a fun place with several things to do and some DELICIOUS good. People are sweet and the grounds around the place is beautiful! Great place! There were a total of 4 of us eating different things and it was ALL FANTASTIC. The dessert was also great. We would recommend coming here again.

We went to eat because of the trip advisor rating but there is so much more to do. It's a self sustaining community that grows their own food and the craftsmanship of their other products are amazing. Take a few hours to visit their Barn, wood shop, pottery maker, blacksmith, basket weaving (I didn't visit this), a fiber arts shop... More

My sister came to visit me in Tyler, TX. and we decided to take a day trip to visit Magnolias Gardens. So happy, we found this place. I plan on another four hour drive just to explore the property again. So much to see and do here. Everyone was so friendly and exceptionally clean. Our server was the best! I... More

What a wonderful place!! Off the beaten path, true farm to table. Had the sweet potato-jalapeño soup with the Santa Fe chicken salad, my mom had the poblano soup with a Reuben, and my husband fad the Santa Fe chicken salad. We had sorghum ice cream for desert. Everything was AMAZING!! The service was excellent. Would like to go back and... More

If you like homemade goodies and great food! They have the "Amish" feel to all their projects. Hand made flour, honey, crafts, quilts, wood items, metal works, etc! If the wait is long, go to the little stores and shop around! It will definitely be a must-do every time I'm in the area!
