Need your BBQ fix? All Rudy's are not the same, but think you will like this one. Be sure to order lean, moist, or cutter's choice as you prefer. The green chili stew is really spicey and tasty but a little goes a long way!

Met a number of friends there and had an excellent meal but had to move on to another place to talk. Very Noisy! Just keep that in mind if you are going there to try and eat and meet.

Obviously a popular place with the college students. A really fun place and great Turkey Sandwich. The Creamed Corn was really good. Hope we have the opportunity to go again.

Let me explain. Yes, they have good brisket and ribs, and yes, the place has atmosphere. But this is Baylor Bear country, and they treated this Longhorn real well !

I recently went for dinner with my husband and son. This was my first visit there and I was very pleased. I had a brisket sandwich which was delicious. I recommend this restaurant.

Like an old time BBQ joint in a dual purpose building that also sells gas. They serve turkey, ribs, pulled pork, but brisket is my favorite, with the wood smoked taste and flavor. Rustic dining room with picnic tables adds to the experience. Several sauces on the table to choose from, Rudy's classic being my favorite.

We have eaten at Rudy's before and wanted to eat there again. We stopped there the day before Thanksgiving. I had the sliced turkey sandwich and hubby had the ribs. He also had the creamed corn. Yummmm! After we finished eating, we got back in line to get some more sliced turkey and creamed corn for our Thanksgiving feast. The... More

Rudy's was recommended by the locals and when we arrived, I was worried about buying gas and food at the same place but it was worth it. They offered samples of brisket and turkey. The turkey was outstanding. I ordered ribs and new potatoes. Wow. Apparently the Baylor coach show is filmed there.

Brisket lovers will really go for the wet brisket. Always a good choice! You really can't go wrong with any of the meat at Rudy's. I'd love to offer a suggestion, though - add some sides that are healthier options. Coleslaw, potato salad, corn - none of these (though they are yummy) are on my healthy eating plan.

As 2 brits on a road trip we wanted to find a Typical BBQ in Texas. This ticked all the boxes. Good food and a good selection of sides and beers. Don't expect glamour. Messy but fun.

Description
Just north of San Antonio, at the edge of the Texas Hill Country, sits the small community of Leon Springs. Founded in the 1800s by Max Aue, Leon Spring's cityscape changed when Max's son, Rudolph, opened a one-stop gas station, garage, and grocery store. Bar-B-Q was added to the operation in 1989, and Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q has been serving up tasty food ever since. The same original recipes that built Rudy's Leon Springs' reputation are now available throughout the Southwest. Our pits are 100% wood fired with oak, a slower burning wood than the mesquite used by others. Along with time and oak, we cook with a dry spice that ensures each plate of Rudy's Bar-B-Q is perfectly ready for you. Apply some of our famous "Sause" and dinner is served.
