This is ‘Mexican’ Mexican food. Not Tex-mex. everything is homemade and everyone is nice and welcoming. They aren’t open on Monday’s and the other days they are open till the afternoon.

Found this restaurant on Trip Advisor while traveling through west Texas. What a wonderful taste of home in southern New Mexico. Great salsa and tostadas with a nice chile bite. The red enchilada sauce was deeply flavorful and the beans were a taste of home...More

First off, the name on the outside of the Restaurant just says Lizy’s Restaurant. The outside of the restaurant made us a little apprehensive (bars on the windows) with us saying let’s sit at a table where we can see the car but no worries....More

We stopped in for breakfast on the way through town, and will be back. I had the green chile and my wife had red. They were both fantastic, but be ready for some heat. The staff are friendly, and the place is clean.

We were traveling from Lajitas to El Paso and found ourselves needing to get gas in Van Horn. We decided to look for a place to have lunch and found this little cafe off the main drag. Great food and excellent service.

Like so many others have said, this is a really out of the way find-simply great food in a simple, plainly decorated diner. People are really nice, food is just spicy enough. Really surprised with this place-highly recommended!
