We celebrated a family member’s birthday here at 5:30 on a Saturday evening. We had a reservation and were seated right away. As the hibachi table filled up, our server took our drink and appetizer orders. Something happened and our server had to leave right after we got our drinks, but the manager took care of us so there wasn’t a lapse in service.
We all ordered the same thing - steak (upgrade to filet for $3) and lobster. The steak was cooked just as ordered but the lobster was way over cooked and rubbery. We ate it anyway- the flavor was ok. Our hibachi chef was excellent! He was very entertaining and did his job well (with the exception of the overcooked lobster). I would have liked more veggies and I didn’t try the fried rice although others said it was good. I will definitely come back here if I get the chance. Good food & atmosphere. The bathrooms could have used a little attention though.

Our whole family really enjoys this place.
We love the flavoring on the hibachi and the experience that comes with that.
We also enjoy the sushi and variety provided.
Always a winner for our family.

We ate on Fri nite 11/8/19. It was busy but we got sat quickly. We sat on the menu side did not wish to sit on show side. Kevin did a good job taking care of us. We all had the Bento boxes. (Different choices) They were very unique and delicious.

Well I will make this short. We had 3 tables which was 25 people. It took them 45 minutes to refill drinks and the ran out of Dr. Pepper and Coke for the night. And Took 2 1/2 hours After we got salad and soup to get a hibachi chef after the first table was cooked for. And our waitress never came back after chef came until time to relieved bill. It was the worse experience. We came to Yomoto the week they opened and the experience was just as bad. We will NEVER come back. Kawas and Showguns both are hands down superior hibatchi and staff takes much better care of you while you are there. Do not ruin ur night. I saw the 4 stars and this is beyond false!! So many people like me usually do not write reviews but maybe we should. Horrible!! Chicken was rubbery. 2 people ordered Scallops and just fyi at Kawas when you order scallops you pay the same but....... you do not get 5... you receive 11 with your meal. Same at showguns maybe 12 scallops. It was crazy. Again I could go on but why bother. This place should be closed.

The Hibachi show here is worth watching. The chef will cook your meal in front of you and sometimes throw food towards you for you to catch in your mouth. The kids love eating here.

The Habachi is great, big portions for a good price. The entertaining cooks are great but it is the same old song and dance. The sushi is mediocre. Not the best in town. Definitely suggest Habachi here

Every time I go to this place they mess up my order. I will never in my life spend another dollar at this restaurant. You would think as high as they are, that they could at least make an order correctly.

The food was terrific, even though the cook didn't really contribute anything to the occasion, other than making the good taste really GOOD. Only problem was that no one arrived to fill our table, so we were the only two to cook for, and the pacing was lacking. Steak there was cooked as ordered, medium. The server was friendly, and spent a bit of time talking with us as we waited hoping others would show up. They did, only a few minutes after we gave up, and started the meal. Sigh.

We started with spring rolls and edamame in the bar while we waited for our table, service wasn't great but the drinks were good as well as the spring rolls. We ordered two rolls, Dynamite and Dancing Monkey and a fried rice with chicken. The Dynamite was one of the best I have had, I would go back for that alone. The Dancing Monkey was refreshing. The fried rice with chicken was very good with plenty of chicken and the portion was generous. Our service was excellent, staff was attentive but did not make you feel rushed.

I will start this out by saying I have been here many times but it has been a long time. And have loved this place so I don’t know what changed. We walked into Yamato for lunch. We waited for about 5 minutes for the hostess to even come to the front. She didn’t acknowledge us and answered the phone then walked off. Several minutes later she came back and asked how many. But I didn’t hear her so I said “excuse me?” And got closer. She stared at me for a second like I was dumb at said how many. We told her 2 for lounge. She said ok let me seat this guy first he has been here longer. So she seated him and walked over to the manager and back over there. We got frustrated and just went to Kawas. The lack of basic customer service makes me question eating and doing business at this establishment.

I recently took my grandson to Yamato's for dinner as I had a friend playing there that evening. Initially service was good but we were less than a 1/3 of the way finished eating when the server asked if we were finished and wanted boxes. I was a bit surprised because we had large servings. We were trying to have a leisurely meal and still were not finished when I was asked if I was ready for the check. I did not get to hear my friend play because we were rushed out of the restaurant. The food was average but it was hard to enjoy under pressure. Still gave the server a generous tip as it was probably not his fault but his instructions. Will not be back.

Tyler is not exactly a food mecca. That said, it is hard to get any sort of decent ethnic food here. Yamato brings Japanese to a new level without the usual kitsch. Food is great. Service a little rough around the edges, but not bad. Décor very in-Tyler like. Lighting was perfect.
We had sushi and ramen and both were better than we expected. Prices very reasonable.

Tried for the first time. We have eaten at similiar Japanese restaurants and have enjoyed the food and the preparation. We arrived shortly after 5 pm and were seated immediately. Our table had 2 other couples. The chef came out and started preparing our meal. The things that we all ordered was the ribeye, the chicken and scallops, the new York strip and several sushi rolls. The first put was some mushroom soup and a salad. The soup was a good start. The salad was a green salad with our choice of dressing. Next was the sushi rolls. We had the rainbow roll, California roll and the dragon roll. The rolls were large and each piece was more than a bite. There were 8 to 10 pieces in a roll. Then the preparation show begin. The flipping of the spatulas and the tossing of the eggs and the onion volcanoes. Although we noticed other chefs were more skilled in the presentation. Even though the rest of the meal turned out very good. The fried rice and noodles were very good. The steaks, chicken and scallops were very tender and cooked just right. We enjoyed our meal and will be back. One could just have one of the plates and it would be around $22 a person. The rolls were around $12. Other places it is hard getting out under $40 a person.
